Among Hydrocarbons : Determination and Removing of Conceptual Mistakes Related With Alkane , Alkene and Alkine
Abstract
Arastırmanın amacı; organik kimya konusuna temel teskil eden hidrokarbon (alkanlar, alkenler ve alkinler) konularında ögrencilerin ögrenmede yasadıkları güçlükler ve kavram yanılgılarının tespit edilmesi, bunların giderilmesi için ihtiyaç duyulan ögretme yöntem ve tekniklerinin belirlenmesi ve ögrenci seviyelerine uygun materyalleri gelistirerek uygulamaktır. Bu arastırmada, ögrencilerin, konuyla ilgili hedeflenen davranısları ne ölçüde kazandıgını arastırılarak, olası kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmek için basarı testleri gelistirilmistir. Gelistirilen testlerin geçerlilik ve güvenirlilik çalısması yapılmıstır. Van il merkezindeki, Cumhuriyet Lisesi'nde bulunan lise III fen sınıflarından iki fen subesinde, konular anlatılmadan önce otuz sorudan olusan ön test uygulanmıstır. Uygulanan öntest sonuçları ve sınıfların önceki yıllardaki basarıları da göz önünde bulundurularak, otuzar kisilik, kontrol ve deney grupları olusturulmustur. Kontrol grubuna düz anlatım ve sorucevap yöntemi kullanılarak konular anlatılmıstır. Deney grubunda ise, önceden hazırlanan ögretim materyalleri, kavram haritaları, kavram agları, anlam çözümleme tabloları kullanılmıs ve deneylerle desteklenmis biçimde ders anlatımı yapılmıstır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına konu anlatımının bitimlerinde konuyla ilgili on beser soruluk ara testler uygulanmıstır. Tüm konular gruplara anlatıldıktan on bes gün sonra son test uygulanarak sonuçlar çıkartılmıstır. Arastırmanın sonucuna göre, kontrol grubu ögrencilerinin not ortalamasının 53.77 deney grubu ögrencilerinin not ortalamasının ise 71.27 oldugu tespit edilmistir. Aradaki farkın deney grubu lehine anlamlı oldugu gözlemlenmistir. Elde edilen bu bulgulara göre, deney grubu ögrencilerinin, uygulanan çalısma ile konuları daha iyi kavrayabildikleri ve konu hâkimiyetlerinin olusturuldugu sonucuna ulasılmıstır. Aims of the research is to determine handicaps and conceptual mistakes which students come across on the hydrocarbon (alkane, alkene and alkine) subjects which are the fundamentals of organic chemistry while their learning process, in order to cease these handicaps determining teaching methods and technics which are needed, and to put on practice these methods and technics via developing appropriate materials . In this research, in order to fix students? probable conceptual mistakes, success questionnaires had been developed by searching how the students gained the behaviours which are aimed within the subject. The developed questionnaires? validity and reliability studies had been done. In two classes among the third class students at Cumhuriyet High School, a pre-test, which contains thirty questions, had been applied before the teaching process. The control and experiment groups- thirty members for each- had been constituted via considering results of the test and achievements of classes on former seasons. The subject explained to control group with straight exposition and question-answer methods. In experiment group, the teaching materials, which were prepared before the explaining the subject before, for the lesson, concept maps and nets, meaning analyze tables had been used and the teaching process had ben supported with experiments. The intermission tests which contains 15 questions for each and related with the subject had been applied to the control and experiment groups. 15 days later after exposioning all subjects to the groups results had been taken out by applying the last test. According to the results of research, the average mark rate of the contol group is 53.77, the rate of the experiment group is 71.27. It has been observed that the discripancy between the groups is significant for the experiment group. According to these findings, the results which has been reached has showed that the students of experiment group concieve the subject better and they dominate it.
