The Eğil Within the Scope of the Religious Tourism Evaluation

Abstract

Bu tezin amaçları Diyarbakır Eğil İlçesini inanç turizmi kapsamında değerlendirmek, ilçenin ve şehrin turizmine katkı sağlayabilecek varlıkları belirlemek, bu varlıklardan inanç turizmi kapsamında yararlanılması için önerilerde bulunmak ve ilçenin turizm dinamiklerine katkı sağlamaktır. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda öncelikle kavramsal çerçeve belirlenerek turizm ve inanç turizm ile ilgili literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Daha sonra Eğil ve Eğil'deki inanç turizmine konu olacak varlıklar üzerinde durulmuştur. Veri toplama için anket yöntemi seçilmiş ve anketler basit tesadüfî örneklem metoduyla uygulanmıştır. Bu kapsamda ilgili bölgede 203 turiste anket uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılardan söz konusu inanç turizmi varlıklarının değerlendirilmesi istenmiştir. Araştırma verilerinde, Varyans analizi (One-Way Anova Analizi) ve bağımsız örneklem T-Testi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, şu bulgulara ulaşılmıştır: Eğil'i ziyaret edenlerin çoğunluğu erkek, 25-34 yaş aralığında, üniversite eğitimli, İslam inancına sahip, çalışan, ulaşım aracı olarak otomobil kullanan, ziyaret amacı dini olan ve Diyarbakırlı olan ziyaretçilerden (yerli turistlerden) oluşmaktadır. Ziyaretçiler Eğil'in inanç turizm için zengin bir potansiyel sahibi olduğunu ve inanç turizmine yönelik alanların tarihi ve kültürel özellikler taşıdığını ifade etmişlerdir. Öte yandan Eğil inanç turizm varlıklarının yeterince korunmadığını, yapısına zarar verildiğini ve konaklama yiyecek içecek, sağlık vb. ihtiyaçları giderecek yeterli olanakların mevcut olmadığını belirtmişlerdir. Buna rağmen ziyaretçilerin, ziyaretlerinden memnun kaldıkları ve çevresindekilere tavsiye etme niyetinde oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca Eğil'de en çok Harun Tepesinde bulunan dört türbenin ziyaret edildiği görülmüştür. Anahtar Kelimeler: Eğil, Diyarbakır, Turizm, İnanç Turizm

The objectives of this thesis are to evaluate the Eğil District of Diyarbakır in terms of its potential for religious tourism; to determine the assets that could contribute to the tourism of the district and the province; to provide recommendations for benefiting from these assets within the scope of religious tourism; and to contribute to the dynamism of tourism in town. In accordance with these objectives, the literature on tourism and specifically religious tourism are reviewed after determining the conceptual framework. Then, the assets that would be the subject of Eğil Town and the religious tourism in Eğil Town are discussed. For data collection, survey method is used, and surveys are applied through simple random sampling. As such, the survey was conducted with 203 tourist who were visiting Eğil Town. The participants of the survey were asked to evaluate the religious tourism assets of the Town.For the data analysis, One-way Anova Analysis and Independent Samples T-Test were used. As a result of the analysis, the following results were found: majority of the tourists were male, aged between 25-34, university educated, have Islam faith, are employed, use cars for transportation, had the visit reason of religious belief and were from Diyarbakır (domestic tourists). The survey participants indicated that Eğil Town has a great potential for religious tourism and the assets of religious tourism of the town has historical and cultural characteristics. On the other hand, they indicated that the assets of religious tourism in Eğil were not sufficiently protected, their characteristics were harmed, and there were not sufficient number of accommodation, dining and healthcare facilities. Despite all the problems, it was detected that the participants were satisfied with their visit and had the intention of recommending to their network. Furthermore, it was found that the four turbehs in Harun Hill were the most visited places in Eğil Town. Key Words: Egil, Diyarbakır, Tourism, Faith Tourism
