Transcription and Evaluation of Gebze Şer'iyye Registry No 1290

Abstract

Özel anlamda Gebze tarihi genel anlamda Osmanlı tarihi çalışmalarına katkıda bulunacağı düşüncesiyele 1290 Numaralı Gebze Şer'iyye Sicili defterini yüksek lisans tez konusu olarak hazırlanmıştır. 1290 Numaralı Gebze Şer'iyye sicilinin Osmanlıca metninin günümüz Türkçesine çevilirken metne sadık kalınmıştır. 1290 Numaraları Gebze Şer'iyye Sicili, Gebze Tarihi, Şer'iyye Sicilleri tarihi ve içeriği, 1290 Numaralı Gebze Şer'iyye Sicili Transkripsyonu, değerlendirme olarak toplam dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Sicil toplamda 74 sayfadan oluşmaktadır. Bu sayfaların tamamının transkripsyonu yapılarak değerlendirildi. Çalışmamızın özet halindeki tablosu, sicil içerisindeki davaların tamamına cevap verecek niteliktedir. 1290 Numaralı Gebze Şer'iyye sicili başlıca konuları: boşanma, nikâh akdi, rûz-ı hızır (mali hesapların kayıt edildiği defter), veraset, kadı ve naib tâyinleri, darp, vergi tahsili için gelen fermanlar gibi konulardan oluşmaktadır. Şer'iyye sicilleri kaleme alındığı dönem hakkından önemli bilğileri içermektedir. Siciller bir şehrin veya bölgenin sosyol, ekonomik, kültürel, hukukî, idârî vb. birçok konuda önümüze ışık tutmaktadır. Aynı zamanda yazıldığı yıl içerisinde meslek grupları, giyim kuşam, bulunduğu bölgeler içerisinde ticari faaliyetler, bölge içerisinde yogunlukta yaşayan Müslim ve Gayrimüslim bölgelerin belirlenmesi, kullandıkları eşyalar hakkında bilgi edinile bilmektedir. Çalışmamızın asıl metni İstanbul'daki Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Cumhurbaşkanlığı Osmanlı Arşivinde bulunan 1290 Numaralı Gebze Şer'iyye Sicili'nin transkripsyonudur. Hicrî 1246-1248 / Miladi 1830-1832 yıllarını kapsayan Gebze şer'iyye sicili ile Gebze'nin toplumsal, kültürel, iktisadî, idarî ve hukukî hayatı hakkında bilğiler sunmaya çalışıldı.

With the thought that it will contribute to the study of Gebze history in particular and Ottoman history in general, the Gebze Şer'iyye Registry No. 1290 has been prepared as a master's thesis topic. While translating the Ottoman text of the Gebze Şer'iyye Registry No. 1290 into today's Turkish, the text was adhered to. The Gebze Sharia Registry No. 1290 consists of a total of four sections: History of Gebze, the history and content of the Sharia Registry, Transcription of the Gebze Sharia Registry No. 1290 and a General Evaluation. The registry consists of 74 page in total. All of these leaves were transcribed and evaluated. The summary table of our study has the quality to answer all the cases in the registry. The Gebze Şer'iyye Registry No. 1290 mainly consists of subjects such as divorce, marriage contract, ruz-ı hızır (the book in which financial accounts are recorded), inheritance, appointments of kadı and naib, fights, and edicts for tax collection. The Şer'iyye Registeries contain important information about the period in which they were written. Registries shed light on many issues of a city or a region in socio-economy, cultur, law, administration etc. At the same time, information can be obtained about the occupational groups, clothing, commercial activities in the regions, the determination of the Muslim and non-Muslim regions living in the region, and the goods they use. The main text of our study is the transcription of the Gebze Sharia Registry No. 1290 in the Ottoman Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey in Istanbul. With the Gebze Sharia Registry covering the Hijri 1246-1248 / Gregorian 1830-1832, information about the social, cultural, economic, administrative and legal life of Gebze was tried to be presented.
