Water and Life in the Quran

Abstract

Kur'ân âyetleri ışığında yaptığımız değerlendirme sonucunda ilk yaratılan maddelerden biri sudur. İlk insan, su ile toprağın karışımı çamurdan yaratılmıştır. Canlıların hayatlarını ve nesillerini devam ettirme sebeplerinden birisi de sudur. Hayatın suya olan bağımlılığından dolayı su, hayattır veya hayat sudur denilebilir. Kur'ân-ı Kerim su anlamında olan mâ' lafzını ve bu anlama gelen başka lafızları da ihtiva eder. Ayrıca mecazen su anlamını da gelen kelimeleri de içermektedir. Kur'ân-ı Kerim'de su ile ilgili meseller yer almaktadır. Su ile imtihan, helak, şifa ve sekinet hususlarında kıssalar bulunmaktadır. Âyetler, cennetteki mükâfatlardan birinin su olduğunu bildirir. Cehennemde cezalandırmaların bir kısmının su ile olacağı konusunda da âyetler bulunmaktadır. Hayat, Kur'ân-ı Kerim'de geçen kavramlardan biridir. Hayat lafzı değişik anlamlarda kullanılmıştır. Aynı şekilde hayat kelimesini çağrıştıran lafızlar da yer almaktadır. Hayat lafzı ile alakalı olan ruh kavramından da söz edilmektedir. Hayatı sağlayan unsûr olan ruh Kur'ân-ı Kerim'de çeşitli anlamlarda zikredilmiştir. Kur'ân-ı Kerim canlı her şeyin sudan yaratıldığını beyan eder. Hz. Âdem'in ve çocuklarının hayatları su ile başlamıştır. Su ile nesilleri devam eden Âdemoğullarının yaratılışları anlatılır. Bununla birlikte tüm canlı ve cansız varlıkları yaratanın ve hayat verenin Yüce Allah olduğu beyan edilir. Su, tüm canlıların hayatında yaşamsal bir değere sahiptir. Kur'ân'da hayatî değeri olan suyun gökten tertemiz indirildiği, bununla birlikte temizlikte ve ibadette önemli bir unsûr olduğu anlatılır. Zamanında Yüce Allah tarafından Hz. Hacer ve Hz. İsmail'e lütfedilen zemzem Mekke'ye hayat kaynağı olmuştur. Bu mübarek suya, Peygamber (sas) ve Müslümanlar büyük önem atfetmişlerdir.

As a result of our study in the light of the verses of the Quran, water is thought as one of the first created substances. The first man was created from mud, a mixture of water and soil. One of the reasons for living beings to continue their lives and generations is water. Due to the dependence of life on water, water is life or life can be called as water. The Quran contains the word 'ma', which means water, and other words that mean water. It also contains words that evoke the meaning of water alongside the other things. There are parable related to water in the Quran. There are stories (kıssa) in the QUR'AN, in terms of testing with water, destruction with water, healing with water and feeling at calm with water. It is reported in some verses that one of the rewards in Heaven is water. There are also verses expressing some of the punishments will be with water in Hell. One of the concepts mentioned in the Quran is the concept of life. The concept of life has been used in different meanings. Likewise, there are words that evoke the concept of life. The concept of spirit, which is one of the important concepts related to life, is also mentioned. The soul which provides life is mentioned in various meanings in the Quran. The Quran declares that everything living is created from water. It tells about the creation of Hz. Adam and human beings, whose lives started with water and continued with it. However, he declares that it is Almighty Allah, who creates and gives life to all living and inanimate beings. Water is vital in the life of all living things. In the Qur'an, it is said that the water having a vital value is lowered from the sky very clearly, and that it is an important factor in cleaning and worship. In addition, it is understood that water is a source of healing for people as described in the story of Hz. Eyyûb. Zamzam water that Allah Almighty gave to Hz. Ismail and Hz. Hacer was a source of life for Mecca then and it is a water that the Prophet (pbuh) and Muslims gave great importance to.
