Feminist Art Movements and Turkish Women Artists

Abstract

Feminizme dair sanat eylemlerini ortaya koyan kadın sanatçılar, gerçekleştirmiş oldukları bu sanatsal eylemleri erkek-egemen temsillere karşı eşit olmayan bir biçimde gerçekleştirmişlerdir. Feminizm sanat eylemi 1960'lı yılların başında öncelikle Batı da vücut bulmuş, zaman içinde dünyanın neredeyse her tarafına yayılmıştır. Feminizmden söz eden sanat kuramları, zaman içinde toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin yanı sıra aynı zamanda, sanat ve iktidar gibi kavramların birbirleriyle nasıl bir bağ oluşturduklarını inceler. Aynı zamanda kurulan bu bağ ile ilgili eleştirel bir yaklaşım sergiler. Söz konusu edilen bu eleştiriyle birlikte yeni, bir sanat okumaları da önerir. Son dönemlerde ülkemizde de feminist sanat kuramları bağlamında kadın sanatçılarımızın üretimlerinin daha iyi anlaşılması ve bu üretimlerin değerlendirilmesi yapılmaktadır. Çalışmanın feminizm konusunu ele almasındaki temel sebepler; literatürde oluşan bir boşluk olarak göründüğü düşüncesi ve sürekli güncellik ve çeşitlilik açısından irdelenebilecek bir konu olması olmuştur. Bu sebeplerle ele alınan çalışma, iki bölümden oluşturulmuş ve ilk bölümde feminizmle ilgili genel geçer bilgiler, ikinci bölümde ise feminizm alanında öncülük eden ve mücadele veren Türk kadın sanatçıları hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde elde edilen bilgiler ışığında yorumlar ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

The women artists who put forward the artistic acts of feminism have performed these artistic acts in an unequal way against male-dominated representations. Feminism art action first came into being in the West at the beginning of the 1960s and spread to almost all parts of the world over time. Art theories that talk about feminism examine how concepts such as art and power, as well as gender roles, form a link with each other over time. At the same time, it displays a critical approach to this bond. Along with this criticism, he also proposes a new reading of art. Recently, in our country, the productions of our women artists have been better understood and evaluated in the context of feminist art theories. The main reasons for the study to deal with the subject of feminism; It has been thought that it appears as a gap in the literature and that it is a subject that can be examined in terms of continuous actuality and diversity. For these reasons, the study was composed of two parts, and in the first part, general information about feminism, and in the second part, information about Turkish women artists who pioneered and struggled in the field of feminism. In the conclusion part, comments and suggestions are presented in the light of the information obtained.
