Investigation of the Effects of Pliometric Training on Biomotorical Properties of 14-17 Year-Old Badmintones
Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of pliometric training on biomotoric properties in 14- to 17-year-old male Badmintonists. The selection of the students participating in our study consists of 24 students between the ages of 14 and 17 who are actively studying and teaching at Van Sports High School, and the students were selected on a voluntary basis. The selected groups were divided into experimental (n=12, age: 15,833±,7177) and control (n=12, age: 15,500±1,000) groups. The experimental group was administered an eight-week, three-day-a-week pliometric training program with badminton training. The control group continued their regular badminton training. SPSS 16 program was used in the analysis of the data. Paired Sample T test and Independent T test were used because the data showed normal distribution as a result of the analysis. According to the pre-test-final test comparisons of the experimental group participating in the study; Vertical jump, horizontal jump, 30 meters speed, T-agility test, balance, back and leg forces were found to be a significant difference. In the comparison of P<0.05 experimental group and control group, a significant difference was found between the two groups between horizontal jump and thirty meter speed tests. P<0.05 As a result, it can be said that pliometric exercises can be used as an alternative exercise program in improving and maintaining the basic motoric characteristics of badmintonists
