Dogu Anadolu Bolgesi'nde Van il sinirlan icinde yer alan arastirma alam VanGolu'nun dogusunu kapsamaktadir. Bolge, Arap Plakasi'mn Avrasya Plakasi altinadalarak, aradaki okyanusu kapatmasi sonucu baslayan kita-kita carpismasi ileolusmaya baslamistir. Yaklasik 2,5 milyon yil once baslayan bolge kivnmlanmasinabagli olarak bugunku Mus Ovasi'ndan Van Havzasina kadar uzanan bir cokuntii alammeydana gelmistir.Ilk olarak 2 milyon yil once volkanik aktivite sergilemeye baslayan Nemrutvolkamndan cikan lavlann etkisiyle Mus Havzasi ile Van Havzasi iki ayn havzadurumuna gelmistir. Boylece Van Havzasi Kuvaterner'de yasanan iklimdegisikliklerinin de etkisiyle gol durumuna gelmistir.Cahsmada oncelikle Van Golii dogu kesiminin jeolojik, jeomorfolojik,klimatik ozellikleriyle birlikte edafik ve floristik sartlar verilmistir. Daha sonra butunbu cografi etmenler goz onunde bulundurularak antropojen faaliyetlerin reliefe etkisiaciklanmistir.

Inthisway Van Basin has become a lake with the effects of changes in climate inKuvaterner.The area that placed in the east of Van Lake is generally consist of mountainslies from east to west and the plains that the streams occurs. In the occurrence of theplain in this area there has been the effects of the changes in the lake level.In the work first, with Geologic, geomorphologic, climatic properties its Edafic andFloristic conditions in east part of Van Lake is studied on. Later with kipping in mindall the geographical factors the relief effects of anthropogenic movements areexplained.
