Abstract

Niyazi Ahmet Banoğlu'nun kurucusu olduğu Tarih Dünyası Mecmuası, 15 Nisan 1950'de yayın hayatına başlamıştır. Mecmua, 26 Şubat 1953'te son sayısını yayınlayarak yayın hayatını sonlandırmıştır. Bu süre zarfında dördü özel sayı olmak üzere toplam 42 sayı neşretmiştir. 1950'li yıllar popüler tarih dergiciliğinin Türkiye'de geliştiği bir süreç olmuş ve Tarih Dünyası Mecmuası bu popüler tarih dergilerinin ilklerinden biri olmuştur. Yayın hayatları genellikle kısa olan popüler tarih dergilerinin içinde, sadece Tarih Dünyası Mecmuası 42 sayı çıkarabilmiş ve bu anlamda ayrı bir öneme sahip olmuştur. Tarih Dünyası Mecmuası dönemin güncel konularını ele aldığı gibi tarihin her dönemine ait konuları da işlemiştir. Kapsam bakımından zaman ve mekân ile ilgili herhangi bir sınırlamaya gidilmemiştir. Millî tarih bilinci ile bir araya gelmiş yazar kadrosuyla, ismini, tarihe verdiği önem ve yaptığı araştırmalardan almıştır. Tarih Dünyası Mecmuası'nın yazıları ile ön plana çıkan yazarları olarak, mecmuanın kurucusu Niyazi Ahmet Banoğlu, Reşat Ekrem Koçu, Adnan Giz, İbrahim Hakkı Konyalı ve Kemal Çığ gibi isimleri sıralayabiliriz. Mecmuada; Türk tarihi, tarihi eserler ve mekânlar, tarihi karakterler, tarihte ilgi uyandıran popüler olaylar ve Türk kültür tarihine ait konular yer almıştır. Ayrıca Osmanlı padişahlarının özel yaşantıları, dönemin ekonomik özellikleri, tarihi zaferler, kültürel özellikler, sanat ve kahramanlık olayları da mecmua da ele alınan konulardandır. Bu konuların yanında günümüzde de önemli bir tartışma konusu olan ve güncelliğini koruyan Ayasofya'nın statüsü veya ibadete açılması konusu da ele alınmıştır.

In addition to these issues, the status of Hagia Sophia, which is still an important topic of discussion and still maintains its current status, or the issue of opening it to worship, was also discussed.
