The Historical-Architectural Decoration Works of Islam Period in the Central of Adana

Abstract

Adana Türkiye'nin güneyinde, Akdeniz bölgesinde konumlanmış, Türkiye'nin en büyük şehirlerinden birisidir. Kuzeyi Toros dağları ile güneyi Akdeniz ile çevrilmiştir ve bu yüksek dağlar ile deniz arasında çok değerli bir ova bulunmaktadır. Bu ovanın adı da Çukurova'dır. Çukurova demek Adana demektir. Yüksek Lisans Tezi çalışma konusu olan 'Adana Merkezindeki İslam Dönemi Mimarisinde Süsleme' kapsamında, süslemeye sahip camiler, medreseler, türbeler ve Adana merkezdeki diğer tarihi-mimari yapılar çalışılmıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda 13 adet kültür varlığı incelenmiştir. Bunlardan 9'u cami ve mescit, 2 tanesi medrese, 2 tanesi türbedir. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında bilgi ve belge toplanmaya çalışılmış ve elde edilen kaynaklar çerçevesinde yerinde inceleme yapılmıştır. 2011-2012 yılında arazi çalışması tamamlanmış ve tespit edilen kültür varlıklarına ait çizimleri yapılmış ve fotoğraflanmıştır. Daha sonra Adana'nın kısaca tarihçesi ve coğrafi konumu anlatılmıştır. Yapılar katalog bölümünde tek tek ele alınarak süslemeler ayrıntılı olarak anlatılmıştır. Süslemeler anlatıldıktan sonra değerlendirme kısmına geçilmiş bölgedeki diğer süslemelerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Süslemelerin genel tarifi ve özellikleri bahsedilerek varılan sonuç açıklanmıştır. Şimdiye kadar Sanat Tarihi açısından araştırılmayan Adana Merkez'deki İslam Dönemi'ne ait süsleme çalışmaları bu çalışma ile bilim dünyasına tanıtılmıştır.Adana is one of the biggest city of Turkey and it is located in the Mediterranean Region, south part of Turkey. Toros Mountains surround North of Adana and Mediterranean Sea surround south of Adana. There's a valuable lowland in between these high mountains and sea. This lowland's name is Çukurova. Çukurova means Adana. Within the scope of the master thesis, 'The Historical-Architectural Decoration Works of Islam Period in the Central of Adana' the Mosques, Tombs and Moslem Theological Schools and other historical-architectural buildings in the central of Adana was studied. As a result of the research 9 Mosques, 2 Moslem Theological Schools, 2 Tombs of a total 13 cultural assets was determined. In the first satage of the study information and documents gathered and within the framework of the obtained sources on-site investigaiton has been mode. In 2011-2012 the Field Work was completed and the identified cultural assets were drawn and pthotographed. After briefly explaining the geographical position and history of Adana. The decoration works was described in detail by one by in the catalog part. In the evaluation section the general definition and characteristics of the decoration works, was mentioned and the identifien cultural assets compared in itself and with the other decoration works in the region the obtained results was explained. The Historical-Architectural Decoration Works of Islam Period in the Central of Adana, which hasn't been handled seriously until now in terms of Art History, was described to science world.
