Policy Novel in Turkish Literature (1980-2000)
Abstract
Polisiye roman, Batı edebiyatında ilk ortaya çıktığı 1841‟den itibaren sürekli tanımlanmaya ve kategorize edilmeye çalıĢılmıĢtır. Bu çabalar, polisiye romanın birçok alt türünün oluĢumunu sağlamıĢtır. Klasik polisiyeyle baĢlayan bu serüven, Katil Kim, Kara Roman, Gerilim, Casus Polisiyeleri ve son olarak Postmodern Polisiyeye kadar geliĢim göstermiĢtir. Türk edebiyatına gelindiğindeyse 1980-2000 yılları, Türk polisiye romanında genel anlamda nitelik ve nicelik açısından birçok önemli eserin verildiği bir dönemdir. 1980 sonrasında polisiye roman, büyük bir geliĢme kaydetmiĢ, profesyonel bir perspektif kazanmıĢtır. Bu dönemden itibaren toplumsal yönü ağır basan ciddi eserler ön plana çıkarken polisiye romanın hemen hemen bütün türlerinde eser verildiği görülür. Bu çalıĢmada 1980-2000 yılları arasında Türk polisiye romanı kategorize edilmeye çalıĢılmıĢ ve türün geliĢim seyri ele alınmıĢtır. ÇalıĢma, üç ana baĢlıktan oluĢmaktadır: Birinci bölümde polisiye romanın tanımı, ortaya çıkıĢı ve popüler kültürdeki yeri üzerinde durulmuĢtur. Ġkinci bölümde polisiye edebiyatın Batı edebiyatındaki geliĢimi ele alınmıĢtır. Üçüncü bölümde ise 1980-2000 yılları arasında Türk edebiyatında kaleme alınan polisiye romanlar, belli bir tasnife tabii tutulmuĢ ve eserlerin tema ve yapı üzerinden özellikleri tespit edilerek türün geliĢim çizgisi belirlenmeye çalıĢılmıĢtır.
The detective novel has been continuously defined and categorised since 1841, when it first appeared in Western literature. These efforts have led to the formation of many sub-genres of the detective novel. This adventure, which started with classical detective fiction, has developed to Who is the Killer, Black Novel, Thriller, Spy detective fiction and finally to postmodern detective fiction. As for Turkish literature, the years 1980-2000 are a period in which many important works were produced in terms of quality and quantity in Turkish detective fiction in general. After 1980, the detective novel made great progress and gained a professional perspective. Since this period, serious works that outweigh the social aspect have come to the fore, while it is seen that almost all genres of detective novels have been created. In this study, it has need tried to categorize the Turkish detective novel between 1980-2000 and the development course of the genre has been discussed. The study consists of three main chapters: In the first chapter, the definition of the detective novel, its emergence and its place in popular culture are emphasised. The second chapter deals with the development of detective literature in Western literature. In the third chapter, the detective novels written in Turkish literature between 1980 and 2000 were subjected to a certain classification and the development line of the genre was tried to be determined by identifying the characteristics of the works in terms of theme and structure.
