The Role of the Mycoplasma Pneumoniae in Respiratory Track Infections

Abstract

Solunum yolu enfeksiyonlarında Mycoplasma pneumoniae'nin rolü. Y.Y.Ü. Sağlık Bilimleri Ensititüsü, Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Van, 2010. Bu çalışmada, Van yöresinde solunum yolu enfeksiyonlarında Mycoplasma pneumoniae'nin rolü ile bu enfeksiyonun tanısında ELISA testinin kullanılabilirliğinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Eylül 2006- Eylül 2007 tarihleri arasındaki bir yıllık süreçte solunum yolu enfeksiyonu şüphesiyle başvuran ve 92'si kadın, 61'i erkek olmak üzere toplam 153 hastadan alınan kan örneğinden mikroELISA yöntemiyle Mycoplasma pneumoniae'ye karşı IgG ve IgM yapısındaki antikorlar arandı. Çalışmada Grifols Marka ve Triturus model otomatik MikroELISA cihazı kullanıldı. Çalışmada 153 hastanın servislere göre dağılımı incelendiğinde %53,6 oranında Çocuk sağlığı ve hastalıkları, %35,3 oranında Göğüs Hastalıkları, %4,6 oranında Deri ve Zührevi hastalıkları, %2 oranında Fizik Tedavi ve Rehabilitasyon ile İç hastalıkları, %2,5 oranında ise diğer (Kardiyoloji, İntaniye, Kadın hastalıkları ve Doğum ile KULAK BURUN VE BOĞAZ) servislerden örnek gönderildiği saptandı. M. pneumoniae antikorları araştırılan hastalarda saptanan pozitiflik oranlarına bakıldığında, 153 hastada genel pozitiflik oranı % 22,8 olarak saptanırken, bu oranların M. pneumoniae IgG için %5.2, IgM için %23, IgG + IgM için ise %2.6 oranlarında olduğu saptandı. Çalışma sonucunda; Van yöresinde solunum yolu enfeksiyonlarında M. pneumoniae'nin %22.8 gibi önemli bir oranda saptandığı, bu enfeksiyonun tanısında ELISA testinin hızlı ve doğru sonuç veren bir test olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varıldı.Anahtar Kelimeler: Solunum yolu enfeksiyonu, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, ELISA

In this study, role of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in respiratory tract infections and to put forward availability of ELISA test in diagnosis of this infection at Van region was aimed. By this aim 153 patient?s blood samples who were admitted with suspected respiratory tract infections were taken from 92 female, 61 male searched for detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against M. pneumoniae by MicroELISA assay between September 2006- September 2007 in a one year period. In this study, Grifols Brand and Triturus model automatic MicroELISA device was used. Distribution of 153 patients were examined according to service; it was determined that samples were sent from Pediatrics at a rate of 53.6%, Chest Diseases at a rate of 35.3%, Dermatology at a rate of 4.6%, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation with Internal Medicine at a rate of 2% and the other at a rate of 2.5% (Cardiology, Infectious diseases, Gynecology and Obstetrics, ENT service). When considering positivity rate in patients who were investigated for M. pneumoniae antibodies, overall positivity rate was detected 22,8 % at 153 patients. Positivity rates were seen 5.2% for M. pneumoniae IgG, 23 % for IgM, 2.6% for IgG + IgM antibodies. Results of this study; M. pneumoniae was detected 22.8% at a significant rate in respiratory tract infections in the Van region and in diagnosis of this infection ELISA test which gives quick and accurate test result can be used for diapnosis of this infection.Key words: Respiratory tract infections, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, ELISA
