Sufism in Nazan Bekiroğlu's Novels and Stories

Abstract

İnsanoğlu ontolojik varlığından bu yana hayatını anlamlandırabilmek ve sürdürebilmek için bir tanrıya ya da dine inanmıştır. Öyle ki bu inanca uygun bir şekilde yaşamaya çalışmak insanoğluna mutluluk ve huzuru getirmiştir. Bu inanışlardan biri olan İslamiyet de devamında tasavvufu getirmiştir. Kur'an ve peygambere dayanan tasavvuf, İslam'ın mistik yönü ve içyüzüdür. Tasavvuf, insanın iç dünyasına yaptığı derin bir yolculuktur. Hayatın en önemli unsurlarından biri olan tasavvuf edebiyata da sirayet etmiştir. Tasavvuf, edebi türlerin varlığından bu yana her edebi türün beslendiği kaynaklardan biri olmayı başarmıştır. Aynı zamanda tasavvuf, Türk edebiyatında da birçok yazar ve şairin eserlerinde gerek doğrudan gerekse yansımalar olarak yer almayı başarmıştır. Bu yazarlardan biri de Nazan Bekiroğlu'dur. Nazan Bekiroğlu, eserlerinde tasavvuf ve geleneği kullanarak çok katmanlı bir yapı oluşturur. Nazan Bekiroğlu'nun roman ve hikâyelerinde tasavvuf temasını inceleyen, müstakil herhangi bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Buradan hareketle 'tasavvuf' bağlamında ele alınan bu çalışmada; Nazan Bekiroğlu'nun roman ve hikâyeleri tasavvuf bağlamında incelenerek; yazarın tasavvufa bakışı ve eserlerinde işleyişi kronolojik sırası göz önünde bulundurularak incelenmiştir.

Mankind has believed in a god or a religion in order to make sense of and sustain his life since his ontological existence. So much so that trying to live in accordance with this belief has brought happiness and peace to human beings. Islam, which is one of these beliefs, has brought Sufism in its continuation. Sufism, based on the Qur'an and prophets, is the mystical aspect and inner face of Islam. Sufism is a deep journey that man makes to his inner world. Sufism, one of the most important elements of life, also spreads to literature. Sufism has succeeded in being one of the sources for every literary genre since the existence of literary genres. At the same time, Sufism has managed to take place both directly and as reflections in the works of many writers and poets in Turkish literature. One of these writers is Nazan Bekiroğlu. Nazan Bekiroğlu creates a multi-layered structure by using mysticism and tradition in her works. There is no independent study examining the theme of Sufism in Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels and stories. In this study, which is dealt with in the context of 'Sufism'; by examining Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels and stories in the context of Sufism; the author's view of mysticism and its functioning in her works have been examined in consideration of their chronological order.
