Developing and Using Materials at 5th Grades in Primary Schools

Abstract

Bu araştırma ilköğretim 5. Sınıflarda matematik dersinde materyal kullanımının öğrenci başarısına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Araştırma Van ilinde bulunan iki ilköğretim okulunda yapılmıştır. Araştırma toplam 144 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir.Bu çalışma için deney grubu ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki grup seçilmiştir. Deney grubunda materyallerle öğrenme etkinlikleri, kontrol grubunda geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri kullanılmıştır.Veri toplamak amacıyla tutum ölçeği ve başarı testi hazırlanmıştır. Konular işlendikçe ön testler uygulanmıştır. Bununla birlikte ön testlerden 4 hafta sonra son testler uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler (frekans, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma), t testi kullanılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda materyallerin kullanıldığı matematik öğretimi yönteminin geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre öğrencilerin başarıları üzerinde daha etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

This study has been researched to examine the using materials that effect on success of the student in primary grades of 5th.The research has been conducted at two primary school in Van. This research was made on 144 students.For this study; it was chosen two groups as experimental group and control group. Learning materials were used in the experimental group and traditional teaching methods were used in the control group.Achievement test and questionnaire were prepared to collect data which is suitable for our study.Before the lessons pre-tests were given and post-tests were given 4 weeks later the pre-tests.The analysis of the data were obtained from descriptive statistics as frequency, mean, standard deviation and t test.The result of the research, it was seen that the mathematics teaching method in which learning activities were used was more effective than the traditional methods on students? mathematics achievement.
