Investigation of the Effect of 8 Weeks Bosu Ball Exercises on Dynamic Balance Development in Adolescent Football Players Between 12-14 Years of Age
Abstract
Abstract The inadequacy observed in football-related balance and bosu ball studies draws attention in the literature; It is thought that exercises such as bosu ball are an extremely important and innovative approach, especially in terms of health, that the football branch, which is an Olympic sport, is developing with increasing momentum in our country, and that coaches need scientifically proven training models to ensure the development of football athletes. In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of 8-week bosu ball training on balance development in adolescent football players between the ages of 12-14. In this regard, the effect of 8-Week Bosu Ball Exercises on dynamic balance applied to adolescent football players between the ages of 12-14 was evaluated, including 10 control and 10 groups continuing Bosu ball exercises. Static Balance (Prokin TecnoBody device) measurements were made before and after the applied program, and according to the results obtained, a statistically significant difference was found between the first and last measurements in the control group, only in the Area Gap Percentage measurement. In the Bosu exercise group, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the first and last measurements in Perimeter Length, Area Gap Percentage and Medium Speed. In addition, while a statistically significant difference was detected in Perimeter Length, Area Gap Percentage and Medium Speed measurements between the pre-training static balance measurements of the control and Bosu groups; In the last measurements, it was not determined that there was a statistically significant difference in Perimeter Length and Medium Speed measurements. As a result of the study, we can say that 8-week bosu balance training has an effect on performance. Keywords: Football, Balance, Bosu Ball.
