Grounding Freedom in the Moral Philosophy of İmmanuel Kant

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Kant'ın ahlak felsefesinde özgürlüğün temellendirmesi konusunu incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaçla öncelikle Kant'ın ahlak felsefesinin genel hatları açıklanarak bu ahlak felsefesi: iyi isteme, ödev ve saygı kavramı çerçevesinde irdelenmiştir. Eğer bir insan özgür olduğunu biliyorsa bu bilginin nereden geldiğini belirtmek gerekir. Bu yüzden bu kast edilen bilgi kaynağının ahlaki buyrukla nasıl bir ilişki içinde olduğunu açıklamak da araştırmamızın en önemli yönünü teşkil etmektedir. Bu açıdan ikinci adım olarak özgürlük kavramı incelenerek bu özgürlük kavramının, ahlak felsefesi ile nasıl bir ilişki içinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmada özgürlüğün insan için bir gerçeklik taşıyıp taşımadığı hususu, ahlak felsefesi bakımından değerlendirilerek ahlak ve özgürlük ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. This study aims to anlyze freedom in Kant's moral philosophy. For this purpose, first of all, the general lines of Kant's moral philosophy are explained and examined within the framework of good will, duty and respect. If a person knows that he/she is free, he/she must indicate where this information comes from. Therefore, it is the most important aspect of our research to explain how this intentional source of information is in relation to moral imperative. From this point of view, the concept of freedom is examined as a second step and it is determined in terms of how it is related to moral philosophy. As an addition, the relationship between morality and freedom has been emphasized by questioning whether freedom is a reality for man and by evaluating it in terms of moral philosophy.
