The Style and Changes of 18th Century Ottoman Mihrabs That Are at İstanbul

Abstract

Osmanlı döneminde İstanbul'da yer alan dini mimarinin, mimari ve sanat tarihi açısından önemi, kendi içindeki çeşitliliği, kullanılan malzeme ve tekniği, doğal çevre ve kültür etkenleri altındaki farklılıklarını ve benzer yönlerini ortaya koyarak XVIII. Yüzyıl mimari üslubunun geçirdiği evrelerin Sanat Tarihimiz açısından nasıl yansıdığını ortaya koymaya çalışılmakdır. Tezin kapsamı, XVIII. Yüzyıl içerisinde inşa edilen yaklaşık kırkbeş cami içerisinden değerlendirmeye uygun olan sekiz adet yapıyı içermektedir. Çalışmaya konu olan kırkbeş eser yerinde incelendi, veriler analiz edildi ve sentezlenerek bir değerlendirme yapıldı. Çalışma fotoğraf ve çizimlerle desteklenerek konunun daha iyi algılanması ve anlaşılması sağlanmaya çalışıldı. Tarihte inşa edilen birçok mimari yapı süreç içerisinde yeteri kadar değer verilmediği ve belgelendirilmediği için yok olup gitmişlerdir. Bu noktada kültür hazinemizde önemli bir yer tutan eserleri yerinde inceleyerek gelecek nesillere belgeli şekilde aktarmak ve yaşatmak önemlidir. Cami mihrapları alanında yapılan çalışmalar ise salt plan ve mimari okuma olarak değil, estetik boyut, etkileşme ve farklılaşma gibi konularda değerlendirilmelidir.

This thesis tries to reveal how was reflected the changing stage of 18th century's architecture style from the points of our Art History by revealing the religious architecture in Istanbul during the Ottoman era, the importance in terms of architectural and art history, diversity within itself, used materials and techniques, natural environment and cultural factors under the differences and similar aspects. Scope of the thesis consists of eight buildings within forty of 18th century that are suitable for evaluation that built within a century. Forty-five works on the subject were analyzed in situ, the data were analyzed and synthesized and an evaluation was made. The work was supported by photographs and drawings to try to provide a better perception and understanding of the subject. Many architectural buildings that builded through the history were destroyed because they were not valued and documented within the process. At this point it is important to pass on the works that hold an important place in our cultural treasures by ivestigating on site and transfer them to the future generations in a documented manner. Studies that carried out in the field of mosques are not merely as a plan and architectural reading but should be evaluated in terms of aesthetic dimension, interaction and differentiation.
