The Affect of Activities That Are Applied on Pilot Application in Primary Mathematics Program on Some Geometric Subjects’ Teaching

Abstract

Ülkemizde öğretim açısından, öğrencilerimizin istenilen seviyede olmadıkları yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu durum ise geleneksel programın ihtiyaçlara cevap vermemesinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'nın eğitimde yenileme çalışmaları sonucunda 2005?2006 eğitim-öğretim yılının ilköğretim 1. kademesinde yeni programın uygulanmasına başlanmıştır. Aynı ders yılında 2. kademesinde de programın pilot uygulanmasına başlanmıştır. Bu çalışma, Van'daki pilot okullarda 2005?2006 eğitim-öğretim yılında uygulanmasına başlanan matematik programının 6. sınıf geometri alanındaki doğru, doğru parçası, ışın, açılar, çokgenler ve benzerlik konularının öğretilmesinde kullanılan etkinliklerin uygulanmasında karşılaşılan eksiklikleri ve kalıcılığını araştırmak amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışma 6 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Van ili sınırlarındaki 4 pilot okuldan birer 6. sınıf şubesi rasgele seçilmiştir. Araştırma için `örnek olay' yöntemi seçilmiştir. Bu araştırma 108 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır Veri toplamak için amaca uygun olarak her konu için başarı testi hazırlanmıştır. Konular işlendikçe ilk-testler uygulanmıştır. Bununla birlikte son-testler ise ilk-testlerden 3 hafta sonra yapılmıştır. Yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat, uzman görüşleri alınarak öğretmenlere uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrenci ürün dosyaları da toplanarak yorumlara katılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS.10'da t, F testleri ve yüzde ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerden hareketle yeni programı destekleyen ve programın gelişimine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülen öneriler sunulmuştur. Sonuçların ve önerilerin yeni eğitim sistemine ve diğer çalışmalara yardımcı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Anahtar kelimeler: Geometri, İlköğretim matematik programı, Matematik eğitimi.

In our country it comes to light from research results that students are not at the level which is required by the education view. This case result from the traditional education does not answer needs. As a consequence of the innovation studies of education at the Minister of Education in 2005-2006 academic year at secondary school in first grade the new program is began to practice. At the same academic year also at the second grade the pilot program is began to practice. This study which is about the pilot school?s of van in 2005-2006 academic year with the mathematic program activity basis mathematic program that is began to practice at 6th class, teaching in geometry depart line, line segment, ray, angles, polygons and similarity subjects on behalf of increasing the effect of student s? success and stationery. The work consists of 6 parts. There has been a random choice of the pilot schools on the boundary of Van from 6th classrooms. `Case study? searching method was selected. This researchment has been applied on 108 students. In order to collect data success tests were prepared. First tests were applied when the subject thought. However last tests were applied three weeks after the first tests. Half formal interview was practiced on teachers, taking opinions of experts. Also student?s product files were collected and added in interpretation. The data that were gained were evaluated with SPSS 10.0, t, F tests and percentage. Setting of the data gained from the research, supporting new program and thinking that it will help the development of the program. It is thought that the results and offers will help education system and the studies. Key words: Geometry, Mathematics education , The primary mathematics program.
