Batman İli Batı Raman Bölgesi Pyraloidea Faunası Üzerine Araştırmalar (Lepidoptera)
Abstract
This study is based on data obtained from a thesis conducted to identify species belonging to the superfamily Pyraloidea in the Batı Raman region of Batman Province. Fieldwork was carried out between May and September 2023 and April to May 2024, primarily focusing on nocturnal species. As a result of the study, 49 taxa were identified, including 47 species and 2 genera from the families Pyralidae and Crambidae. Among these species, 36 were recorded as new to the fauna of Batman. The results were compared with data from the literature, and morphological characteristics were taken into account in conducting faunistic studies in general and taxonomic studies in some species. In this context, the male genital structure of Synaphe morbidalis and the external morphological features with the reproductive organ photographs of Eurhodope cinerea species were presented for the first time in this thesis. Additionally, the geographical distribution of species in Türkiye and worldwide was taken into account, and the ecological preferences of some species were also evaluated. According to the obtained data, the species determined to have limited distribution in Türkiye include Keradere tengstroemiella, Susia uberalis, Eurhodope cinerea, Pyrausta neglectalis and Metasia ossealis and Elegia iozona. Among the species with a narrow distribution area worldwide, Acrobasis atrisquamella, Pyrausta ferrealis and Metasia rosealis come into prominence. Species such as Ephestia elutella, Euchromius ocellea, Cadra figulella, Helula undalis, Ostrina nubilalis and Nomophila noctuella were determined to be common both in Türkiye and worldwide and to have wide ecological tolerance.
