Abstract

Climate change is a growing concern around the world. This crisis causes significant impacts in various sectors such as agriculture, tourism, energy, and construction. Risks due to climate events are increasing, job losses are occurring, and workers' health is negatively affected. Especially as the frequency and severity of natural disasters increases, employment security decreases in these sectors. Recently, the COVID- 19 pandemic has rapidly changed the business world and ways of doing business. Remote working has emerged as a result of this change and has been adopted as an alternative employment method. Unlike traditional office environments, the remote working model reduces greenhouse gas emissions, reduces carbon emissions caused by traffic congestion, and enables more efficient use of resources by optimizing energy consumption. Therefore, this study considers evaluating the effects of climate change on employment through the COVID- 19 pandemic and the remote working model as an eco- strategy that will contribute to environmental sustainability. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
