The Staging Aesthetics of Belief and Music in Anatolian Culture
Abstract
Music and staging aesthetics, which exist together with beliefs and rituals in Anatolian culture, carries the traces of cultures that have a deep-rooted past and lived in Anatolia. By following these traces, focusing on the staging-oriented rituals of religious traditions especially Shamanism, Alevi-Bektashism and Mevlevi, allow us to understand how beliefs and rituals are exhibited in Anatolia. This research will deal with the beliefs and rituals of the cultures that lived in Anatolia with a musical and staging focus and will follow the evolving process of rituals such as Shamans to Alevi-Bektashi-Mevlevism and Sema-Semah. In this process, we will try to understand the reflections of music and staging aesthetics in Anatolian culture, how beliefs and rituals are expressed through the body, and how society reacts to these experiences.
