Examination of the Problem Solutions of the Subject of Rational Numbers İn 7th Grade Mathematics by Apos Theory

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı 7. sınıf rasyonel sayılar konusunun problem çözümlerinin APOS teorisi ile incelenmesidir. Konu ile alakalı yapılan çalışmalar incelendiğinde öğrencilerin rasyonel sayı konusunun öğreniminde genel olarak zorlandıkları görülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2023-2024 eğitim-öğretim yılında Muş ilinin merkeze bağlı Kırköy beldesinde bulunan Kırköy Şehit Zekeriya Yatı İmam Hatip Ortaokulu 7.sınıf öğrencilerinden bir şubede bulunan 15 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma için öğrencilere açık uçlu altı tane rasyonel sayılarla işlem gerektiren problem hazırlanmış ve uygulanmıştır. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanarak yapılandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda elde edilen veriler içerik analizi tekniği ile incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin bir önceki Matematik ders başarısı ile APOS teorisi genetik çözümlemenin sonucunda elde edilen öğrenci verileri ile uyumlu olduğu görülmüştür.

The aim of this study is to examine the problem solutions of the 7th grade rational numbers subject with APOS theory. When the studies on the subject were examined, it was seen that students generally had difficulty in learning the subject of rational numbers. The sample of the research consists of 15 7th grade students in a branch of Kırköy Şehit Zekeriya Yatı İmam Hatip Secondary School, located in the central town of Kırköy in the province of Muş, in the 2023-2024 academic year. For the study, six open-ended problems requiring operations with rational numbers were prepared and applied to the students. The study was structured using the case study design, one of the qualitative research methods. The data obtained at the end of the study was examined using the content analysis technique. As a result of the study, it was seen that the student's success in the previous Mathematics course was compatible with the student data obtained as a result of genetic analysis of APOS theory.
