The Some Difficulties Faced in the Laboratory Practices of Natural Science Lessons
Abstract
Fen bilimlerinin tüm alanlarında olduğu gibi, fen bilgisi öğretiminde deöğrencilere bilimsel tutum ve beceriler kazandırmada, teorik bilgileri pratiğedönüştürmede, el-göz koordinasyonlarını geliştirmelerinde (tüm bunlar bilişsel-duyuşsalve psiko-motor becerilerin birlikte koordineli olarak etkileşimi ile sağlanır) yaratıcı,araştırmacı ve muhakeme yeteneğini kazandıran, geliştiren en etkili öğretim yöntemi,laboratuvar yöntemidir. Fen bilimlerinin doğası ve kendisi laboratuvarlara ve laboratuvaruygulamalarına dayanmaktadır.Yapılan çalışmanın amacı; ilköğretim 6., 7. ve 8. sınıflarda fen bilgisi dersleriniokutan öğretmenlerin laboratuvar uygulamalarında karşılaştıkları güçlükleri belirlemekve nedenlerini ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik tutumlarının / görüşlerinin neler olduğuhakkında; öğretmenlerin daha çok hizmet yıllarını, cinsiyetlerini, mezun olduklarıalanları ve yaş kriterlerini dikkate alarak değerlendirme sonucunda öneriler ilerisürmektir.Çalışmada, Van Merkez lköğretim Okullarından altı tanesine 2003-2004 eğitimve öğretim yılında görev yapan 28 fen bilgisi öğretmenine laboratuvar uygulamalarındakarşılaşılan güçlüklere yönelik anket uygulanmıştır.Anketlerin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda uygulamada karşılaşılan güçlüklerin şutemel nedenler çerçevesinde toplandığı görülmüştür;- Uygulamaya ayrılan sürenin yetersizliği,- LGS nedeniyle uygulamaya yer verilmeyişi,- Fiziki mekan yetersizliği,- Araç-gereç eksikliği,- Müfredatın yoğun olması (birden fazla branşı yürütmek),- Mezun olunan alanın farklılığı,- Yaş, cinsiyet ve hizmet yıllarının farklılığı, â ¦ vb.Bulgular sonucunda temel olan bu güçlüklerin ve eksikliklerin yanında özellikleüniversite'de alınan eğitimin öğretmenlerin yürütmekte oldukları branş için yetersizolduğu ve pedagojik formasyon eğitimi yönünden de yetersizliğin olduğu sonucuçıkarılmıştır. As in the all branches of natural science, it is also in science teaching, ingaining to the students scientific attitude and skills, turning theoric knowlodges intopractice, improving coordination of hand-eye (all these are provided whit coordinatedinteraction of phsyco-motor skills and cognitive, affective the most effective) educationmethod of laboratory technic and laboratory technic is the most effective educationalmethod. The nature and itself of natural science based on the laboratories and laboratorypractices.The aim of done study is to determine of the difficulties whichare faced inlaboratory practices and the teachers who give natural science lectures to the 6. 7. 8. thclasses of primary schools and find out what are the reasons about the attitudes opinions(views) to evaluate for the teachers by taking consideration much more their workingyears, sexes, and the department they graduated from age criterion and make up offers(proposals) for these difficulties.In the study, to the six of Van city center primary schools, a questionary whichwas faced about laboratory practices was made 28 natural science teachers teaching in2003-2004 educational term.In the results of evaluating the questionaries, it was seen that the dificulties,which were faced in practice gathered around there main causes;- insufficiency of time which is separate for the practices,- not including practice, because of the LGS- insufficiency of places,- insufficiency of devices,- density of curriculum (leading more than one branch),- the difference of graduated departmant etc.- age, sex and the difference of working years.In the result of there findings, difficulty and defects especially education whichis got at universty is unsufficent for the branches which are leading by teachers and itwas findins the result of defectiveness about the pedegogical formation.
