Abstract

Tarihte önemli bir konuma sahip olan Savur tarihteki bir çok uygarlığa ev sahipliği yapmış ve bu uygarlıkların sanat eserlerini bağrında barındırmış ve hala barındırmaktadır.Mezar ve mezarlık kültürü yeryüzünde hayat sürmüş bütün insanlar ölüleri için bazen devasa yapıtlar, küçük mimari eserler bazen de çok basit formda mezarlar yapmışlardır. Bu insanoğlunun öldükten sonrada var olma isteğinin bir tezahürüdür. İnsanların inançlarına göre ölülerini gömme işlemi toplumdan topluma, inançtan inanca, kültürden kültüre farklılık göstermektedir. Toplumların zaman içinde inançları değişse de kültürlerindeki ölü gömme ve mezar anlayışı kısmi bir değişikli göstermiş veya o inanca yada kültüre uyumlu hale gelmiştir. Bütün ölü gömme faaliyetlerini doğrudan etkileyen insanların inançları olmuştur. Mezarlıklar ve mezar taşları bulundukları bölgeye ait oldukların milletin ve kültürün mührünü basarlar.Orta Asya'dan Anadolu'nun içlerine kadar uzanan mezar yapma geleneği toplumun ve çağın insanlar üzerinde bıraktığı kültürel değişimi ve etkileşimi sonucunda meydana gelen devinimi mezarlık kültüründe görmek mümkündür.Mardin ve yöresinde İslamiyet' ten başka dinlerinde bulunması kültürel bir etkileşimin meydana gelmesine neden olmuş olup; sanata ve mimariye yansımıştır. Bu yansıma çok azda olsa mezar yapımında göze çarpmaktadır.Savur'daki mezarlar ve mezarlıklar Türk kültürünün farklı zaman dilimlerinde sahip oldukları yansımalar hakkında bize delil sunan en önemli kültür değerlerimizdir. Bu bağlamda bizde Savur ve çevresinde bulunan bu kültürel varlıklarımızın tarihteki yerlerini almaları için böyle bir çalışma yaptık.

Savur, which has an important place in the history, has hosted a lot of civilations since ancient times. It keeps the artworks of those civilations.Different societies have different cultures in term of cemeteries and tombs. people lived from the ancient times to nowadays has built sometimes huge constructs, sometimes small architectural builds and sometimes simple tombs for their corpses . The existence of those constructs is a result of human?s willing to exist after death.People?s corpse-entombment procedures are different from each other depend on their culture, society and religion. However believes of people changed time by time, the concept of corpse-entobment and tomb-constructs have either changed a little bit or it has been adapted to their cultures and believes. To sum up, believes of people have affected directly their procedures of entombment.Tombs and tombstones carry the seal of the society and the culture which it is belong. It is possible to see the effects of the society and the era on people, in the tradition of tomb-constructing extended from the Middle Asia to Anatolia.Becouse of the fact that some other religions different from Islam existed in Mardin and its districts there, a cultural interaction was lived. It is seen that the interaction reflected the art, the architecture and the tomb-construct, too.The cemeteries and the tombs in Savur are ones of the most important cultural worth which present the most beautiful samples of several cultural reflections which Turkish culture got in different eras. The reason why we present you this work is to enable the cultural values of Savur and its surround take their places in the history.
