A Review on Chapter of Conceptions From Book of Mostarî's Sharh Isagugî

Abstract

Daha önce nüveleri olmakla birlikte mantığın asıl kurucusu Aristoteles'tir. Mantık, doğru düşünmenin ilkelerini konu edindiğinden kurucusundan günümüze kadar ehemmiyetinin korumuş bir yöntembilim olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Aristoteles'ten beri oluşan mantık külliyâtı içerisinde Porphyrios'un Îsâgûcî'si önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu önem İslâm mantık dünyasında da karşılık bulmuştur. Ebherî'nin yazdığı Îsâgûcî, İslâm dünyasında yazılmış en önemli çalışmalar arasında yer almaktadır. Ebherî'nin Îsâgûcî'sine tarih boyunca pek çok şerh yazılmıştır. Zamanla oluşan bu şerh geleneğine katkı sunan eserlerden biri de tezimizin konusunu teşkil eden, Bosnalı ilim adamı Mostarî'nin yazmış olduğu Şerhu Îsâgûcî adlı eserdir. Şerhu Îsâgûcî, tasavvurât ve tasdikât olmak üzere iki ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Bu tezin konusunu bölümlerden ilki oluşturmaktadır. Mostarî, bu bölümde ilk olarak mantığın kelime anlamı, işlevi, tanımı ve konuları üzerinde durmuştur. Ardından tasavvurât bölümüne, Îsâgûcî kelimesinin etimolojik çözümlemesini yaparak geçmekte son olarak delâlet, lafız çeşitleri, beş tümel ve tanım teorisiyle bölümü tamamlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, söz konusu kronoloji takip edilerek adı geçen konular incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda, incelenen eserin tercümesi verilerek çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Böylece, Mostarî'nin İslâm mantık geleneği içerisinde nerede konumlandırılabileceğine dair bir fikir verilirken aynı zamanda bu geleneğe yapmış olduğu katkı ve eleştiriler de belirginleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Although there have been some logical movements before, Aristoteles is the real founder of logic. Logic appears as methodology which is so important from ancient history to our age since it talks about the principles of correct thinking. Since Aristoteles, Porphyrios's Isagoge plays a crucial role within in logic corpus. This role finds a response in Islamic logic intelligentsia. Isagugî, written by al-Abharî, is among the most important works written in Islamic logic intelligentsia. During the history, there are many commentaries were written about al-Abharî's work. Also, one of commentary that has contributed to this logic corpus tradition is my thesis about Sharh Isagugî which were written by Mostarî, is Bosnian scholar. Sharh Isagugî are consisting of two main part: conceptions and assents. This thesis only mentions about conceptions part. In this part, Mostarî is firstly focus on literal meaning of logic, function of logic, definition of logic and subject of logic. After that while he was passing to conceptions part by refiring to etymology of Isagogue, finally he completed by discussing theory of definition, five universals, types of utterance and signification. I completed my thesis with giving original translation end of the thesis. Thus, not only this thesis provides with an idea where Mostarî is in Islamic logic intelligentsia, but also is struggling to make a clear his critics and contributions to logic tradition.
