Modernizmden Postmodernizme Görsel Sanatlarda Kent Formu ve Kentleşme Sorunsalı

Abstract

Bu araştırma, moderniteden postmoderniteye geçişi görsel olarak ele alarak formda meydana gelen değişimlere ve kentleşme sorunsalına dikkat çekmektedir. Postmodernizm, globalleşme sürecinde bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin gelişmesiyle yeniden düzenlenen kentsel yapılara kendi kimliğinin damgasını vurmuştur. Bu bağlamda modernizm ve postmodernizm ile gelişen kentleşmenin kentsel mekâna yansımaları, konunun ana temasını oluşturmaktadır. Kentlerde yaşayan insanlar, hızlı kentleşmenin yol açtığı sorunlar dolayısıyla zihinsel ve fiziksel yıpranma yaşamakta ve bu tür sorunların ele alınması sorgulanmaktadır. Kentlerin insan yaşamını sosyolojik, psikolojik, sağlık ve ekonomik olarak etkilediğini ve bu sorunların farklı mecralarda tartışıldığı görülmektedir. Son zamanlarda görsel sanatlarda da tartışılan bu konular farklı sanat dallarında da yorumlanmaya başlamıştır. Bundan dolayı konunun güncel hayata yakın olması nedeniyle kent konusu verilen çerçeve içinde incelenmiş ve sanat öğeleriyle tartışılmış, yorumlanmış ve sanatsal öğelerle modernizmden postmodernizme birçok sanatçı kent yaşamını ve kenti birçok farklı açılardan ele alarak tuvallerine yansıtmışlar. Kent yaşamını resmeden sanatçılar, eserlerinde genellikle çarpıcı renkler, soyut formlar ve dinamik kompozisyonlar kullanarak kentlerin enerji dolu, ancak bir o kadar da kaotik atmosferini yansıtmaktadır. Bu eserler, modern ve post-modern kentlerin hem estetik hem de toplumsal açıdan eleştirisini sunarken, izleyicilere de kent yaşamı üzerine düşünme fırsatı vermektedir. Bu sayede hızlı kentleşmenin yarattığı sorunlar, melankoli, karmaşıklık, yabancılaşma, kirlilik resimsel olarak ifade edilmeye ve farkındalık yaratılmaya çalışılmıştır.This research draws attention to the changes in form and the problem of urbanization by considering the transition from modernity to postmodernity visually. Postmodernism has left its mark on urban structures that have been reorganized with the development of information and communication technologies during the process of globalization. In this context, the main theme of the study is the reflections of urbanization, which developed with modernism and postmodernism, on urban space. People living in cities experience mental and physical wear and tear due to the problems caused by rapid urbanization, and the addressing of these issues is being questioned. It is observed that cities affect human life sociologically, psychologically, in terms of health, and economically, and these problems are being discussed in various forums. Recently, these topics have also been debated in visual arts and have begun to be interpreted in different branches of art. Due to the relevance of this issue to everyday life, the topic of the city has been examined within the given framework and discussed, interpreted, and reflected upon with artistic elements. Many artists have depicted urban life and the city from various perspectives on their canvases, transitioning from modernism to postmodernism. Artists depicting urban life generally reflect the energetic yet chaotic atmosphere of cities by using striking colors, abstract forms and dynamic compositions in their works. While these works offer criticism of modern and post-modern cities from both aesthetic and social perspectives, they also give viewers the opportunity to think about urban life. In this way, the problems created by rapid urbanization, melancholy, complexity, alienation and pollution were tried to be expressed pictorially and to raise awareness.
