Political Activities in Iraq 1954-1958

Abstract

Bu araştırma temel olarak Irak'ta 1954-1958 yılları arasında gerçekleşen rejim değişikliğine ve siyasî faaliyetlere odaklanacaktır. Bu dönemde gerçekleşen siyasî, toplumsal ve ekonomik gelişmelere zemin hazırlayan ulusal ve uluslararası 1954 öncesi koşullara odaklanılmıştır. Bunun yanında Irak'ın 1954 yılındaki seçim denemesinin ülke içinde ne tür siyasal gelişmelere sebebiyet verdiği de ele alınmıştır. Buna göre rejim değişikliğinin meşruluğunu gösteren seçimler hem siyasal hem de toplumsal yeni örgütlenmelerin önünü açmıştır. Bu bağlamda hem Arap Birliği Projesi hem de ulusal birlik meseleleri gibi tartışmalar bu gelişmeler ışığında ele alınmıştır. Gelişen Yurtseverler Birliği ve gibi yeni oluşan siyasal-toplumsal hareketlerin krallık rejimi için ne tür sonuçlara sebebiyet verdiğine değinilmiştir. Son olarak bu tür hareketlenmelerin protesto gösterileri, bunun akabinde darbe ve 1958 yılında krallık rejimin yıkılmasına yönelik etkileri ele alınmıştır.

This research will mainly focus on the regime change and political activities between 1954-1958 in Iraq. This period focuses on the national and international pro-1954 conditions that paved the way for political, social and economic developments. In addition, the political developments in the country caused by the election attempt of Iraq in 1954 were discussed. According to this the elections that show the constitutional monarchy of the regime change paved the way for social and social organizations. In this context, both the Arab Union Project and the discussions on national unity issues have been handled with these developments. The effects of the newly formed political and collective movement such as the Developing Union of Patriots and the Free Officers Movement for the kingdom regime were explained. Finally, the demonstrations of such movements and impact of the coup and subsequent collapse of the kingdom regime in 1958 s are discussed.
