Abstract
Being a means of acquiring knowledge, report (khabar) has been the subject of various disciplines such as history, logic and hadith. Kalam also regarded report as a means of knowledge and criticized such sects as Berahima and Sumania, which do not count with report as the source of knowledge. Mutakallimun used report in proving the truth of earlier prophets and their miracles and the Prophet Muhammad's. They also disputed with Jewish and Christian theologians over this issue. The present-day studies tend to ignore the roles played by role in demonstrating the earlier prophets and their miracles and take it in a quite limited sense. This study intends to elaborate on the epistemologic value of report in demonstrating the earlier prophets and their miracles.
