Controlling the Temperature Value of Medium by Using PLC
Abstract
ÖZET PROGRAMLANABİLİR KONTROLÖR (PLC) İLE BİR ORTAMIN SICAKLIK DEĞERİNİN KONTROL EDİLMESİ KAYRİ, İsmail Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Elektrik-Elektronik Anabilim Dalı Tez Danışmanı: Yrd.Doc.Dr. Nihat İNANÇ Ocak 2003, 57 sayfa Bilişim teknolojisinin hızla ilerleme kaydettiği bu çağda, bir sisteme, insan faktörüne ihtiyaç duymadan otomatik olarak kumanda etmek, o sistemin yaptığı işte hız, güvenlik ve kaliteyi de beraberinde getirmiştir. Fabrikalarda, işyerlerinde ve daha birçok yerde yapılan işlerde, kişilerin inisiyatifinin sebep olabileceği iş kazaları sonucunda meydana gelen mal ve can kayıplarının önüne geçebilmek ve yapılan işte verimi artırabilmek için sistemlere, dizayn edilmiş başka sistemler tarafından kumanda edilmektedir. Kontaktör, röle, zaman rölesi ve benzeri kumanda elemanlarıyla yapılan kumanda sistemleri, maliyet, yapılan işte kalite, hız, güvenlik, verim gibi önemli faktörlerin düşünülmesi için yeterli alt yapıyı sağlamazlar. Bunun nedeni, bu kumanda elemanlarının çalışma prensibinin genellikle elektro mekanik olmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bunun yanında bu elemanlarla yapılan kumanda sistemlerinin fazla hacim kaplamaları ve gürültülü çalışmaları insanları yeni arayışlara sürükledi. Otomatik kumanda alanında varılmış son teknoloji olan Programlanabilir Lojik Kontrolörlerin (PLC) uygulamalarında kontaktör ve röle gibi elemanlar sadece iş yapacak makineyi sürme işleminde kullanılır. Kumandayı sağlayan devreler ise yarıiletken malzemelerden elde edilmiş, kısa sürede iletim ve kesime geçme kabiliyeti gösteren diyot, transistor ve entegre devrelerdir. Mikroişlemcili sistemlerle tanışılmadan önce, klasik kumanda teknolojisi, karmaşık kumanda sistemlerinin gerçekleştirilmesine müsaade etmiyordu. Ancak mikroişlemcilerin geliştirilmesi ile beraber karmaşık sistemler bile, ekonomi, kalite, güvenlik, hız, verim faktörlerinin son derece iyi olduğu şartlar altında uygulanmaya başlandı. Bu tezde PLC'nin yapısı araştırılmış olup, sistemlere PLC ile kumanda etmek için gerekli hazırlayıcı bilgiler verilmiştir. Bu bilgilerden sonra bir ortamın sıcaklık kontrolünün PLC ile sağlanabilmesi için gerekli çalışmalar uygulanmış olup rapor haline getirilmiştir. ABSTRACT CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE VALUE OF A MEDIUM BY USING PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) KAYRİ, Ismail Msc, Electric-Electronic Department Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihat İNANÇ January 2003, 57 pages At this age, in which information technology progresses rapidly, automatic controlling of a system, requiring no human factor, braught at the issues of speed, safety, and quality of the work that the system does concurrently. In factories, workplaces, and many other places, systems are controlled by other systems in order to increase productivity and to prevent loss of life and property due to industrial accidents because of personal mistakes. Control systems consist of contactor, role, time relay and similar control elements cannot provide adequate infrastructures for considering important factors such as cost, quality, speed, safety, and productivity. The reason for this is the fact that the working principle of these controlling elements is generally electro mechanic. Furthermore, control systems using these elements take up a great deal of space and make noise. These disadvantages led poeple to search for new systems. In practices of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), a state of the art technology in the field of automatic control, the elements such as contactor and relay are used only for driving the machine on the task. The circuits providing the control are semiconductors such as diods, transistors, and integrated circuits demonstrating the ability of cutting and transmitting in short time intervals. Before the introduction of microprocessor systems, classical systems did not allow to manifacture complicated systems. However, with the development of microprocessors, even complex systems started to be practiced under the conditions in which the factors of economy, quality, safety, speed, and productivity are extremelly well. In this study, the structure of PLC is examined and the preparatory information needed to control the systems by using PLC is given. In addition to this information a report on the studies done to control the temperature of a medium by using PLC.
