Translating and Introduction of Hamdullah Mustawfi's 'Tarikh-i Guzida'

Abstract

Hamdullah Müstevfî, Târîh-i Güzîde adlı eserinde ilk olarak evre¬nin yaratılışından başlayarak Hz.Muhammed (s.a.v)'in hayatı, eşleri, halifele¬ri ve ahlâkı hakkında detaylı bilgiler aktarmıştır. Ardından ünlü âlimlerin ha¬yatı, sözleri, nasihatlarına yer vermiştir. Eserde ayrıca doğduğu ve yaşadığı şehir olan Kazvin hakkında da bilgi vermişir. Müellif eserin çok sayıda hane¬dandan bahsetmektedir. Bunlar: Sâsânîler, Emevîler, Abbasîler, Gazneliler, Büyük Selçuklular, Türkiye Selçukluları, Kirman Selçukluları, Karahıtaylar, Salgurlular, Gurlular, Harezmşahlar ve İsmâilîler hakkındadır. Bu hanedanlar hakkında verdiği bilgiler doğrultusunda Türkler hakkında da önemli bilgilere ulaşmaktayız. Bunların yanı sıra tarihi şahsiyetlerin geride bıraktıkları şehirler ve mimarî eserleri, milliyetleri, mezhepleri, yaptıkları savaşlar ve şehirlerin vergi miktarları konusunda önemli mâlûmatlar takdim etmektedir.

Tarikh-i Guzida, Hamdullah Müstevfi's important work, is about the genesis of the universe. Firstly, he gives detailed information about the li¬fe, the wives, the Khalifs and the ethic of Hz.Muhammed (s.a.v.). Then, he gives place to famous scholar's life, their utterances and their counsels. Furt-hermore, he gives a brief information about Kazvin where he was born in and he lived in there. The author mentions about so many dynastics like as The Sâsânîans, The Umayyads, The Abbasîs, The Ghaznavids, The Great Seljuks, The Anatolian Seljuks, The Kirman Seljuks, The Karahitays, The Salgurs, The Ghûriyâns, The Khorezms and The İsmâilîs. In this direction, we can re¬ach important informations about The Turks. In addition to these informa¬tions, he introduces the cities from the past, some art Works, nations, deno¬minations, the wars and tax amounts of the cities.
