Abstract

Kafkasya tarihi, bağımsızlık mücadelesi, mücadele liderleri gibi konular hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak için önemli bir kaynak olan 'Kafkas Dergisi' 1953 yılı Ocak ayında, İsmail Ziya Bersis başkanlığında İstanbul'da yayınlanmaya başlamıştır. Dergi aylık olarak yayınlanmıştır. 'Kafkas Kültür Derneğinin' gayrı resmi yayın organıdır. Kurucusu ve sahibi, İsmail Ziya Bersis, genel yayın müdürü, Şeref Terim'dir. Yazar kadrosunda; Vasfi Güsar, İsmail Ziya Bersis, Şeref Terim, Seyin Time, Ahmet Canbek Havjoku gibi önemli isimler bulunmaktadır. Dergi, Kafkasya'dan sürgün gelen halkın mücadelelerine, kaldıkları yerden devam etme ve seslerini dünyaya duyurma amacı ile çıkarılmıştır. Dergide, aynı zamanda Kafkasya'nın; tarihi, kültürü, toplumsal hayatı, coğrafyası, Kafkasya bağımsızlık mücadelesindeki önemli liderleri, ticaret tarihi ve etnik yapısı ile ilgili yazı ve makaleler mevcuttur. Özellikle Kafkasya mücadelesi ve mücadele liderlerine geniş yer verilmiştir. Kültür ve tarihlerini gelecek kuşaklara aktarma, öğretme ve unutturmamayı hedeflemişlerdir. Değerlendirme büyük ölçüde dergiden edinilen veriler doğrultusunda yapılmıştır. Dergi Kafkasya tarihi açısından önemli bir kaynaktır.
