The Effects of Preoperative Detailed Information Onpostoperative Pain and Anxiety in Aesthetic Nose Surgery

Abstract

Estetik burun cerrahisi geçirecek hastalara, preoperatif dönemde yapılacak detaylı bilgilendirmenin postoperatif ağrı ve anksiyete üzerine etkilerini araştırmaktır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya 18-65 yaş aralığında, ASA I-II sınıfına dâhil, Türkçe okuma yazma bilen, psikiyatrik ve nörolojik herhangi bir hastalığı olmayan, psikiyatrik ilaç ve kronik alkol kullanmayan, estetik burun cerrahisi geçirecek toplam 64 hasta dâhil edildi. Hastalar kapalı zarf çekme yöntemi ile iki gruba randomize edildi. Detaylı bilgilendirme yapılan gruptaki (Grup B) hastalara geçireceği ameliyatla ilgili Form 2 deki ayrıntılı bilgilendirme yapıldı. Detaylı bilgilendirme yapılmayan gruptaki (Grup N) hastalara ise ayrıntılı bilgilendirme yapılmadı. Tüm hastalarla ameliyattan önce yüz yüze görüşülerek, preoperatif STAI FORM TX-1 anksiyete ölçeği ile anksiyete düzeyleri ölçüldü. Postoperatif derlenme odasında takip edilen ve derlendikten sonrası servise alınan hastaların postoperatif 3. saatte durumluk anksiyete düzeyleri STAI FORM TX-1 anksiyete ölçeği ile tekrarlandı ve ağrı düzeyleri VAS skoru ile ölçülerek kaydedildi. Bulgular: Gruplar arasında preoperatif anksiyete ve 3. saat VAS skorları açısından herhangi bir farklılık saptanmadı. Postoperatif 3. saatte ölçülen anksiyete düzeyi grup N'ye kıyasla Grup B de istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede daha düşük saptandı. Sonuç: Preoperatif dönemde hem anestezi hem de cerrahiye bağlı birçok etken hastaların anksiyete yaşamasına sebep olmaktadır. Preoperatif dönemde hastaların VIII geçireceği operasyon hakkında bilgilendirilmesi perioperatif dönemdeki anksiyetelerini azaltmaktadır. Estetik burun cerrahisi ameliyatlarında preoperatif detaylı bilgilendirmenin postoperatif ağrı düzeyini etkilemediğini ancak anksiyete düzeylerini azalttığını tespit ettik.

The aim of the current study is to investigate the effects of detailed preoperative information on postoperative pain and anxiety in patients who will undergo aesthetic nose surgery. Method: A total of 64 patients between the ages of 18-65, in ASA I-II class, literate in Turkish, without any psychiatric or neurological disease, not using psychiatric drugs and chronic alcohol, and undergoing aesthetic nose surgery were included in the study. Patients were randomized into two groups according to the sealed envelope method. The patients in the group (Group B) who were given detailed information were given detailed information in Form 2 about the surgery they will undergo. The patients in the group (Group N) who were not given detailed information were not given detailed information. Anxiety levels were measured with the preoperative STAI FORM TX-1 anxiety scale by face-to-face interviews with all patients before surgery. The state anxiety levels of the patients who were followed up in the postoperative recovery room and taken to the service after recovery were repeated at the 3rd hour postoperatively with the STAI FORM TX-1 anxiety scale. At the same time, pain levels were measured and recorded with the VAS score. Results: There was no difference between the groups in terms of preoperative anxiety and 3rd hour VAS scores. Anxiety level measured at the 3rd hour postoperatively was found to be statistically significantly lower in Group B compared to Group N. X Conclusion: In the preoperative period; It causes patients to experience anxiety due to many factors related to both anesthesia and surgery. In the preoperative period; Informing the patients about the operation they will undergo reduces their anxiety in the perioperative period. We determined that detailed preoperative information did not affect the level of postoperative pain, but reduced anxiety levels in aesthetic nose surgery.
