Toponumy,sosyal, siyasal ve ahlaki bakımlardan insanlığı ilgilendirmeye, insanların zihinsel veruhsal durumları hakkında fikir vermeye devam etmektedir.Canlı bir hayat tarzı sunan Kur'an, zaman zaman kişi ve yer adlarını vererekonlar hakkında bilgi vermektedir. İnsanlığın saadetini ön planda tutan Yüce Kitap,milletlerin hayatlarında çarpıcı sahneler sunarak tabilerine aynı hatayadüşmemelerini salıkverir. Mesela Hz. Lut kavminin işledikleri kötü fiilleri nazaravererek nasıl helak edildiklerini anlatır. Hikâyenin sonunda da Allah'a tabi olanlarınnasıl kurtuluşa erdiklerinden bahseder.Geçmiş milletlerin lüks ve şatafat içinde yaşadıklarını; bunlardan Allah'aşükredenlerin kurtuluşa erdiklerini, nankörlük edenlerin de azaba uğradıklarını haberverir ki İrem ve Sebe Halkı bu cümledendir.Yine Kur'an yer isimleri vererek bu yerlerin kutsallıklarına ve bu yerlerdeyapılacak ibadetler hakkında bilgi verir: Arafat'ta durma, Kâbe'yi tavaf, Mescid-iAksa gibi yerlerin önemi hep bu şekilde vurgulanmıştır.Yerleşik hayat tutkunu olan insanoğluna, Kur'an, Yerleri ve üzerinde yaşayanhalkların durumlarını anlatarak dersler vermektedir.103
