Secondary Housing as a Recreational Activity: the Example of Van-Mollakasim

Abstract

Daimi ikâmet ettiğimiz konutun dışında dinlenme, eğlenme, tatil amaçlı olarak kullandığımız ikincil konutlar geçmişten günümüze varlığını koruyarak gelmiştir. Bu tarihsel süreçte dünyada meydana gelen birçok olaydan etkilenerek gelişim ve değişim göstermiştir. 1950'li yıllarla birlikte Türkiye'de gelişme gösteren ikincil konutlar denizden faydalanmak üzere çoğunlukla ülkenin kıyı alanlarında konumlanmış ancak yapılan plansız uygulamalarla yoğunlaşan bu konutlar zamanla kıyıların mezarları haline getirmiştir. Bulundukları alanları çeşitli şekillerde etkiledikleri ortaya konulan ikincil konutlar dikkatimizi bu konuya çekmiş ve yapılan bu çalışma ile Van-Mollakasım Mahallesi'ndeki ikincil konut gelişimini araştırmak üzere ele alınmıştır. Çalışma ile mahalledeki ikincil konut gelişiminin tarihsel süreç içerisinde nasıl meydana geldiği, gelişim düzeyinin ne düzeyde olduğu, ikincil konut, kullanıcılarının özellikleri belirlenerek diğer araştırmalara katkı sağlanması, yörenin ikincil konut gelişimi ile sosyal, kültürel, mekânsal ve ekonomik açılardan nasıl etkilendiğini, Covid-19 salgınının Mollakasım'daki ikincil konut gelişimin, ne düzeyde etkilediğini ve ne gibi sınırlılıklar meydana getirdiğini ortaya koymak amaçlanmaktadır. Buna ilişkin olarak çalışmada ikincil konut kullanıcıları ve yöre halkına mülakat ve anket olmak üzere karma bir yöntem uygulanmış ve ikincil konut gelişiminin detaylandırılması daha anlamlı hale gelmiştir. Çalışma sonunda elde veriler değerlendirildiğinde mahalledeki ikincil konut gelişiminin olumlu ve olumsuz tüm yönleri ile alanı etkilediği görülmüştür.

Apart from our permanent residence, the secondary residences that we use for rest, entertainment, and holiday purposes have survived to the present day. In this historical process, it has developed and changed by being affected by many events that took place in the world. Secondary residences, which developed in Turkey in the 1950s, were mostly located in the coastal areas of the country to benefit from the sea, but these residences, which intensified with the unplanned applications, turned into the tombs of the coasts in time. Secondary residences, which have been shown to affect the areas they are located in various ways, drew our attention to this subject and with this study, it was discussed in order to investigate the secondary housing development in Van-Mollakasim District. With the study, it is aimed to reveal to show how the secondary housing development in the neighborhood occurred in the historical process, what the level of development is, the characteristics of the secondary housing and its users, contributing to other research, how the secondary housing development of the region is affected by social, cultural, spatial and economic aspects, how the Covid-19 epidemic is affected, to what extent the secondary housing development in Mollakasim affects and what limitations it creates. In this study, a mixed-method, including interviews and questionnaires, was applied to the secondary house users and the local people, and the elaboration of the secondary housing development became more meaningful. When the data obtained from the study were evaluated, it was seen that the secondary housing development in the neighborhood affected the area with all its positive and negative aspects.
