Examination of Published Tales of Different Cultures in Terms of Root Values

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı farklı kültürlere (Afrika, Arap, Azerbaycan, Ermeni, İran, İskandinav, Japon, Kore, Rum, Rus, Sefarad Yahudileri, Türk) ait yayımlanmış masalları kök değerler (adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik) açısından incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda verilerin toplanması, analizi, bulguların sonuçlanması ve yorumlanmasında nitel araştırma deseni ve doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma kapsamında 12 farklı kültüre ait masal kitaplarının içerisinden 50-54 sayfayı tamamlayacak şekilde masallar seçilmiş ve toplamda 70 masal, 2018 Türkçe Öğretim Programı'nda yer verilen kök değerler açısından incelenmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analiz kullanılmış, elde edilen bulgular tablolara dönüştürülerek açıklamalar ve değerleri barındıran iletiler tabloların altında sunulmuştur. Çalışma iki bölümde ele alınmıştır. İlk bölümde kültürlere ait masallardaki değer dağılımı ayrı ayrı ele alınmış, ikinci bölümde ise kültürler ve tespit edilen kök değer ileti sayıları alınarak karşılaştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda en sık tespit edilen değerler yardımseverlik (f:151) ve sevgi (f:121) olurken en az tespit edilen değerler ise sabır (f:12), saygı (f:12), adalet (f:11) ve vatanseverlik (f:2) olmuştur. Kültürlere ait masallarda yer verilen toplam değer sayılarına baktığımız zaman da Afrika (f:63), Japon (f:50), Azerbaycan (f:49), Arap (f:44), İskandinav (f:43), İran (f:39), Ermeni (f:38), Türk (f:36), Rum (f:35), Rus (f:31), Kore (f:30) ve Sefarad Yahudileri (f:26) şeklinde bir sıralamanın oluştuğu görülmektedir. Bu verilerden yola çıkarak tüm değerleri barındırması açısından Afrika masallarının zengin bulunduğu fakat diğer kültürler de dâhil çoğu masalda sabır, saygı, adalet ve vatanseverlik değerleri başta olmak üzere bazı kök değerlere az yer verildiği ya da hiç yer verilmediği tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde alanyazınındaki diğer çalışmalarla tartışması yapılarak elde edilen sonuçlara göre önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to analyzed the published tales of different cultures (African, Arab, Azerbaijani, Armenian, Iranian, Scandinavian, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Russian, Sephardic Jews, Turkish) based on root values (justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, in terms of love, responsibility, patriotism, benevolence) is to examine. For this purpose, qualitative research design and document analysis technique were used in data collection, analysis, conclusion and interpretation of the findings. Within the scope of this study, tales were selected to complete 50-54 pages from among the tale books belonging to 12 different cultures, and a total of 70 tales were examined in terms of the root values included in the 2018 Turkish Curriculum. Descriptive analysis was used in the analysis of the data, the findings were converted into tables and the messages containing the explanations and values were presented under the tables. The study is handled in two parts. İn the first part, the distribution of values in the tales of cultures was discussed separately, and in the second part, cultures and the root value message numbers determined were compared. As a result of the research, the most frequently determined values are benevolence (f:151) and love (f:121), while the least determined values are patience (f:12), respect (f:12), justice (f:11) and patriotism (f:2). when we look at the total number of values included in the tales of cultures, African (f:63), Japanese (f:50), Azerbaijan (f:49), Arab (f:44), Scandinavian (f:43), Iranian (f:39), Armenian (f:38), Turkish (f:36), Greek (f:35), Russian (f:31), Korean (f:30) and Sephardic Jews (f:26) appears to occur. Based on these data, it has been determined that African tales are rich in terms of containing all values, but some root values, especially patience, respect, justice and patriotism, are given little or no place in most tales, including other cultures. İn the last part of the study, it was discussed with other studies in the literature and suggestions were made according to the results obtained.
