Islamic Ceramics of the Adıyaman Museum

Abstract

Adıyaman il merkezi orta Fırat bölümü içinde yer almaktadır. Adıyaman Kenti, uzun bir geçmişe sahip olan eski bir yerleşim yeridir. Kentte birçok farklı medeniyet hüküm sürmüştür. Bu çalışma, Adıyaman Müzesi'nde yer alan İslami döneme ait sırlı seramik buluntulardan oluşmaktadır. 1978 yılında, Aşağı Fırat projesi kapsamında başlatılan kurtarma kazılarından elde edilen eserler detaylı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Söz konusu çalışmada etütlük eserler yer almaktadır. 151 adet seramik parçasının 1/100 ölçülerinde kesit ve motif çizimleri yapılarak, iç ve dış yüzeylerinin fotoğrafları çekilerek, katalog çalışmaları oluşturulmuştur. Ayrıca bu seramikler malzeme, form, süsleme teknikleri ve süsleme çeşitlerine göre değerlendirilmeye alınmıştır. İncelenen örnekler, yayınlarda yer alan diğer kazı buluntuları ve farklı müzelerde bulunan eserler ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan karşılaştırma neticesinde bu çalışmada ele alınan seramiklerin Türk Sanatındaki önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Adıyaman Müzesi'nde bulunan sırlı seramikleri belli bir disiplin içerisinde bilim dünyasına tanıtmak amaçlarımız arasında yer almaktadır. Aynı zamanda eserlerin özellikleri ve işlevsellikleriyle; toplumların sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel yapısı arasındaki bağlantıyı vurgulamaktır.

Adıyaman city center is located in the middle Euphrates section. Adıyaman City is an old settlement with a long history. Many different civilizations reigned in the city. This study consists of glazed ceramic finds from the Islamic period in the Adıyaman Museum. The artifacts obtained from the rescue excavations initiated within the scope of the Lower Euphrates project in 1978 were generally evaluated. Study works are included in the study in question. Catalog studies were created by making cross-section and motif drawings of 151 pieces of ceramic pieces in the size of 1/100, and photographing the interior and exterior surfaces. In addition, these ceramics were evaluated according to their material, form, decoration techniques and types of decoration. The samples examined were compared with other excavation findings in publications and artifacts found in different museums. As a result of the comparison made, the importance of the ceramics discussed in this study has been tried to be emphasized in Turkish Art. It is among our aims to introduce the glazed ceramics found in the Adıyaman Museum to the scientific world within a certain discipline. At the same time, with the features and functionality of the works; to emphasize the connection between socio-economic and socio-cultural structure of societies.
