102 ÖZET PLATON'UN SİYASAL SEÇKİNLERİ OLARAK YÖNETİCİ SINIFI MENGİ, Abdurrahman Yüksek Lisans, Sosyoloji Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Yrd. Doç. Dr. HalilRahman AÇAR Ekim 2004, 102 Sayfa Platon'un siyasal seçkinleri olarak yönetici sınıfını araştıran bu tez, Platoncu yaklaşımı toplumsal ve siyasal gerçekliği anlamada kullanılan çeşitli yaklaşımlardan biri olarak ele alır ve dört bölümden oluşur. I. Bölümde seçkin kavramı dar ve geniş kullanımıyla ortaya konur. II. Bölümde Platon'un projesini ve siyasî işlevini, mevcut anlatımlara dayanarak çözümler. III. Bölümde seçkinci kuramlar konusuna yoğunlaşıhr. Pareto, Mosca ve Michels vb. düşünürlerin görüşleri üzerinde durulur. IV. Bölümde, Platoncu yaklaşımla diğer anlayışların karşılaştırılmasına gidilir. Sonuçta Platon toplum ve devlet temellendirmesini bilgi (logos) üzerine yapmak istediği açıklık kazanır. Bunu başaracaklar da bilge yöneticiler olduğu görülür. ABSTRACT PLATO'S POLITICAL ELITES AS ADMINISTRATIVE CLASS MENGI, Abdurrahman Master Degree, Department of Sociology Advisor of Thesis: Assoce. Dr. HalilRahman AÇAR November 2004, 102 Papes This thesis, which focuses upon Plato's political elites as administrative class, handles the platonist approach as one of the guides for understanding the social and political reality. The thesis is composed of four sections: Chapter one deals with the conception of elite in its norrow and wider usages. Chapter II analyses the projects and political functions of Plato based on his works. Chapter III examines the elitist theories and concentrates on thinkers such as Pareto, Mosca and Michels. Chapter IV makes a comparison between the platonist approach and the other approaches. As a result, it appears that the society and the state must be founded upon knowledge (logos) and it becomes visible that those who are able to accomplish this succesfully are only wise persons.
