Abstract

Engellilik, insanın varoluşundan beri var olan bir durumdur. Yüzyıllardır insanların yaşadığı bu dünyada tarihimiz her türlü insana şahitlik etmiş ve engelliler de bu tarihin içinde kendini göstermiştir. Engellilik, kişinin hayatını etkileyecek ancak buna bağlı olarak hayatını devam ettirebilecek bir durumdur. Pek çok insanın engelli olması onların suçu değil, doğuştan veya sonradan karşılaşabilecekleri bir durumdur. Engelli bireyler toplum içinde dışlanmış, farklı gözlerle bakılmış ve istenmeyen kişiler olarak görülmüştür. Engelliler hayatta kalabilmek için çalışma hayatına girmek zorundaydı ve bunun için adım atmak çok zor bir ihtimaldi. İkinci Dünya Savaşı'nın patlak vermesiyle birlikte azalan dünya nüfusu ile savaş sonrasında devletlerin ekonomik olarak ilerleyebilmek için insan gücüne ihtiyacı olmuştur. Bu nedenle engellileri engel gruplarına göre seçip yapabilecekleri alanlarda çalışmayı uygun bulmuşlar ve bu sayede ilerleme kaydetmişlerdir. Ancak normal bir insanın hakları olduğu gibi engellilerin de hakları olmak zorundaydı ve bu nedenle onlara yasal ve sosyal haklar gibi birçok hak verildi. Engellilerin yaşam koşullarının iyileştirilmesine yönelik birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmalar sonucunda geçmişten günümüze uzun bir yol kat etmişlerdir. Bu ilerleme sonucunda hala yeterli olmadığı görülmüştür. Bunun için çalışmaya devam ettiler ve etmeye devam ediyorlar. Engelli bireylerin yaşam kalitelerinin yükseltilmesi ve çalışma koşullarının daha sağlıklı bir duruma getirilmesi için birçok çalışma yapılmaktadır.

Disability is a condition that has existed since human existence. In this world where people have lived for centuries, our history has witnessed all kinds of people and the disabled have also shown themselves in this history. Disability is a condition that will affect a person's life but can continue his/her life accordingly. It is not their fault that many people have a disability, it is a condition they may encounter from birth or later. Disabled individuals were excluded from society, viewed with different eyes and seen as unwanted people. Disabled people had to enter the working life in order to survive and it was a very difficult possibility to take a step for this. With the outbreak of the Second World War, the declining world population and the states needed manpower to advance economically after the war. For this reason, they chose the disabled according to their disability groups and found it appropriate to work in the areas they could do, and thus they made progress. However, just as a normal person has rights, disabled people also had to have rights and therefore they were given many rights such as legal and social rights. Many studies have been carried out to improve the living conditions of the disabled. As a result of these studies, they have come a long way from the past to the present. As a result of this progress, it has been seen that it is still not enough. They have continued to work for this and continue to do so. Many studies are carried out to increase the quality of life of disabled people and to improve working conditions.
