Studies on the Fauna and Ecology of the Pyralidae in the Çatak Valley (Van Province)

Abstract

ÖZETÇATAK VADİSİNİN (VAN) PYRALIDAE FAUNASI VE EKOLOJİSİÜZERİNE ARAŞTIRMALARDOĞRUÖZ, MelikeYüksek Lisans Tezi, Biyoloji Anabilim DalıTez Danışmanı: Yrd. Doç. Dr. Muhabbet Kemal KOÇAKMayıs 2005, 85 sayfaBu tezde, Çatak Vadisinin Pyralidae faunası ve ekolojisi araştırılmıştır. Buamaçla 2003-2004 yılları arasında çalışma alanından, özel ışık tuzağı kullanılarak,gece yakalanan toplam 1092 ergin güve örneği değerlendirilmiştir. Bu örneklerinhazırlanması ve teşhisinden sonra toplam 105 takson kaydedilmiştir. Bunlardan 93'ütür, 12'si cins düzeyinde belirlenmiştir.Tezin bulgular kısmında, her türün geçerli bilimsel adı, sinonimleri, orijinalreferansı, türün yayılışı ve Türkiye'de tespit edildiği illerin yanı sıra larva besinbitkisi, beslenme tipi, habitat tercihi, uçuş dönemi, türün faaliyeti ve lokalitebilgilerine yer verilmiştir.Tartışma bölümünde, çalışma alanında tespit edilen türlerle ilgili olarakelde edilen faunistik ve ekolojik bulgular değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma alanındatoplam 93, Van vilayetinde 75 ve Türkiye faunası için 4 tür yeni kayıt olarak ilaveedilmiştir. Prof. Dr. Muhabbet Kemal KOÇAKMay 2005, 85 pagesIn this thesis, fauna and ecology of the Pyralidae in the Çatak Valley arestudied. For this purpose, totally 1092 adult specimens are captured by nights fromthe studied area by using the special light trap in 2003 and 2004. After preparationand determination of these specimens, totally 105 taxa are recorded. Among them,93 taxa are determined at specific, and 12 taxa at generic level.In the chapter of the results of the thesis, valid scientific names, synonyms,references to the original descriptions, distributions in Turkey and in the world,larval food-plants, feeding types of the larvae, habitat preferences, flying periods,daily activities of the moths are mentioned for each taxa.In the chapter of the discussion, all the species recorded in the studied areaare evaluated faunistically and ecologically. Totally 93 species are new records tothe studied area, 75 species to the Van Province, and 4 species to the fauna ofTurkey, respectively.
