The Life of İmam Nawawi, His Different Views and Preferences in His Minhaj At-Talibin

Abstract

Bu tezimizde İmâm Nevevî'nin hayatını ve Minhâcü't-Tâlibîn adlı eserini inceledik. Tezimiz üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Nevevî'nin hayatını, hocalarını, talebelerini ve eserlerini ele aldık. İkinci bölümde el-Minhâc eserindeki metoda, eser üzerine yapılmış çalışmalara ve eser hakkında ulemanın görüşlerine yer verdik. Üçüncü bölümde tezimizin asıl konusu olan Nevevî'nin el-Minhâc eserindeki tercihlerini işledik. Konuları ibadet, muamelat ve ukubat şeklinde ele aldık. Her bir konuya ait meselelerdeki tercihleri inceledik. Öncelikle meseleler hakkında mezhebin genel yaklaşımını verdikten sonra Râfiî ve Nevevî'nin mesele hakkındaki tercihlerine yer verdik. Özellikle Nevevî'nin meseledeki tercih sebebini, tercihte bulunurken hangi delilerle dayandığını tespit etmeye çalıştık. Bu tespitimizi yaparken Nevevî'nin diğer eserlerine de müracaat ettik.Nevevî el-Minhâc eserinde kendine has bir terminoloji ortaya koymuştur. Konular hakkında kanaatini belirtirken bunu açıkça ifade etmiştir. Nevevî'nin konular hakkındaki tercihleri Şâfiî mezhebinin tercihi olmuştur. Nevevînin tercihlerinde birçok faktör etkili olmuştur. I searched the life of Imam Nawawi and analyzed his work of Minhaj at-Talibin in this dissertation. The dissertation is composed of three chapters. In the first chapter I dealt with the life, masters, students and works of Nawawi. In the second chapter I examined his method of Minhaj and gave a place to other works and the views of 'ulama on it. As for the third chapter, I treated Nawavi's preferences in his Minhaj. I handled the subjects as worships (ibadat), transactions (muamalat) and penalties (ukubat). I analyze his preferences relating with each subject. Firstly I wrote the general approach of his school on a subject and then explained the preferences of Rafi'i and Nawawi about it. Particularly I tried to define the reasons of his choice on the subjects and evidences that he used while he was making a preference. By doing so, I looked through the other works of Nawawi. Nawawi used a terminology of its kind in his work of Minhaj and he stated clearly his choice on a subject. The preferences of the school of Shafi were based on the choices of Nawawi after himself.
