An Analysis of Cemil Kavukçu's Novels for Children in Terms of Symbolic Language

Abstract

İnsan var olduğu günden bu yana kendini dil aracılığıyla ifade eder. Dili daha etkili kullanabilmesi ise gelişim süreci içinde gereken dil eğitimlerini almasına bağlıdır. Dünyaya gelen insan süreç içinde önce ailesinden zamanla çevresinden ve belli bir süre sonra eğitim- öğretim ortamından etkilenerek dili öğrenmektedir. Dili doğru yapılandıran bireyin simgesel dili öğrenmesi için nitelikli bir okur olması ve simgesel dil ögelerini iyi bilmesi gerekmektedir. Çocuğun düş dünyasını, daha iyi geliştirmesi ve sözcük dağarcığını zenginleştirmesi için simgesel dil ögeleri oldukça önemli olmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Cemil Kavukçu'nun çocuk romanlarını simgesel dil açısından incelemektir. Çalışmanın veri kaynağını Cemil Kavukçu'nun 11 çocuk romanı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler nitel araştırma yönteminin veri toplama tekniklerinden doküman incelemesi yoluyla toplanmış ve betimsel analiz yapılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, Cemil Kavukçu'nun çocuk romanlarının simgesel dil açısından nitelikli yapıtlar olduğu görülmüştür. İnceleme konusu olan yapıtlarda simgesel dil ögelerinin tamamının görüldüğü belirlenmiştir. Ancak bazı yapıtlarda belirlenen simgesel dil ögelerine rastlanmamıştır. Yapıtlarda dilin söz varlığını gösterecek ölçüde deyim ögesine rastlanmıştır ancak atasözü yalnızca bir yapıtta görülmüştür. Yapıtlar, zengin simgesel ögelerle oluşturulmuş ve yazınsal nitelik açısından başarılı bulunmuştur. Yapıtlarda yer verilen simgesel ögelerin belli yaş düzeylerinde farklılaşması, çocuk okurun gelişiminin dikkate alındığını ve çocuğa görelik ilkesine uygun olarak yazıldığını ortaya koymuştur. Sonuç olarak Cemil Kavukçu'nun çocuk romanlarının simgesel dil açısından yetkin yapıtlar olduğu düşünülmektedir. Being able to use the language more effectively depends on taking the necessary language training during the development process. In the process, a person who comes to the world learns the language by being influenced first by his family, his environment over time, and after a certain period of time, by the education-teaching environment. The individual who constructs the language correctly must be a qualified reader and know the symbolic language elements well in order to learn the symbolic language. Symbolic language elements are very important for the child to develop his/her dream world better and to enrich his/her vocabulary. The main purpose of this study is to examine Cemil Kavukçu's children's novels in terms of symbolic language. The data source of the study consists of 11 children's novels by Cemil Kavukçu. The data obtained in the study were collected through document analysis, one of the data collection techniques of the qualitative research method, and analyzed by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, it has been seen that Cemil Kavukçu's children's novels are qualified works in terms of symbolic language. It has been determined that all of the symbolic language elements are seen in the works that are the subject of the study. However, the symbolic language elements determined in some works were not found. In the works, idioms have been found to show the vocabulary of the language, but the proverb has been seen only in one work. The works were created with rich symbolic elements and were successful in terms of literary quality. The differentiation of the symbolic elements in the works at certain age levels revealed that the development of the child reader was taken into account and that they were written in accordance with the principle of relativity to the child.
