The Relation Between Using the Strategies of Comprehension Listening and the Level of Listening Comprehension

Abstract

Dinleme, konuşan kişinin vermek istediği mesajı tam olarak anlayabilme becerisidir. Dinleme becerisi bir eğitim çatısı altında sistemli bir şekilde öğretildiği zaman daha verimli sonuçlar edilir. Çünkü bazı bilgilerin ve davranışların ilköğretim çağında verilmesi gelecek nesillerin daha sağlam temeller üzerine inşa edilmesini sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin anlama / dinleme stratejilerinin kullanımı ile dinlediğini anlama düzeyi arasındaki ilişkisini ortaya koyacak bir uygulama yapılmıştır. İlköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde uygulanan bu çalışma öğrencilerin dinleme becerilerini kullanmalarını ve geliştirmelerini esas almıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin dinleme eğitimine yeteri derecede önem vermelerini sağlamaktır. Çünkü dinleme eğitimi sayesinde öğrenciler öğrendiklerini çok daha uzun süre belleklerinde tutabilmektedirler.Araştırma Bilecik ili Söğüt ilçesindeki bütün ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Belirli bir plan çerçevesinde yürütülen çalışmalar ön test ve son test ölçümlü bir çalışma olarak planlanmış ve yapılmıştır. Öğrencilere ön test yapılmış, dinleme stratejileri sistemli bir şekilde öğretilmiş ve son test ile ?Dinleme Becerilerini Değerlendirme Ölçeği? uygulanarak elde edilen verilerle öğrencilerin ön test ve son test değerleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığı SPSS programında t-testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiş; öğrencilerin dinleme becerileri ve bu becerilerin gelişimi çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Temel dil becerileri, dinleme eğitimi, dinleme becerileri, etkili dinleme.

Listening is the skill that understanding exactly what the speaker?s message that s/he really wants to give . When the skill of listening is taught under training process systematically, its results will be more efficient .Because giving some behaviors and information at the age of primary, will provide to instruct future generations on stronger basic. In this study, an application is made for displaying clearly the relation between using the strategies of understanding / listening and the level of understanding what you are listening. This study applied to 7th grades at primary school and it is predicated on developing and using the skill of listening. The aim of this study is to provide students to give enough importance on listening education. Because with the help of listening education, students can keep what they learnt in their memory much more longer.The research was applied to all the 7th grades students in Söğüt, Bilecik. Studies that are conducted as a part of a definite plan, are planned and made as a study of pre-test and last-test measurement. The pre-test is applied to the students, the listening skill strategies are systematically taught and with the last-test ?Evaluation Scale of Listening Skills? is carried and with the result of these attainments it is analyzed if there is semantic difference between pre-test and last-test values by using ANOVA in SPSS program ; the students? listening skill and development of these skills are analyzed in terms of different variables.Key Words: Basic language skills , listening education , listening skills , effective listening.
