Taşradan Metropole Göç Sonucu Oluşan Kadının Yeni Konumu: İstanbul'a Göç Etmiş Van-Bahçesaraylı Kadınların Gözüyle Kentsel Yaşam

Abstract

Bu çalışma kapsamında Van'ın Bahçesaray ilçesinden İstanbul'un farklı semtlerine göç etmiş kadınların göç etme sebepleri ve adaptasyon süreçleri irdelenmiştir. Bu süreç içerisinde kadınların yaşadıkları deneyimler, göç sonucu yaşadıkları dönüşümler, yaşadıkları kültürel değişimler, aidiyet duyguları ve gündelik yaşam pratiklerindeki değişimlerin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak, Van'ın Bahçesaray İlçesinden, İstanbul'un Esenyurt, Bağcılar ve Arnavutköy ilçelerine göç etmiş, farklı yaş grubundaki 20 kadın birey ile yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Katılımcı kadınların çoğu, taşradaki baskıcı yaşam koşullarından ayrılarak kentte daha özgür bir hayata geçtiklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Görüşmeler sonucunda göçün kadınlar için hem özgürlük süreci olduğu hem de bu sürecin onları zorladığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

Within the scope of this study, the reasons for migration and adaptation processes of women who migrated from Bahçesaray district of Van to different neighborhoods of Istanbul were examined. In this process, it is aimed to reveal the experiences of women, the transformations they have experienced as a result of migration, the cultural changes they have experienced, their sense of belonging and the changes in their daily life practices. Using qualitative research method, face-to-face interviews were conducted with 20 women of different age groups who migrated from Bahçesaray district of Van to Esenyurt, Bağcılar and Arnavutköy districts of Istanbul. Most of the participant women stated that they left the oppressive living conditions in the provinces and moved to a freer life in the city. As a result of the interviews, it was revealed that migration was both a process of freedom for women and that this process forced them.
