Abstract
Tamoxifen (MW=371 g/mol) is an endocrine therapeutic drug widely prescribed as chemopreventive in women to prevent and to treat all stages of breast cancer. It is also being studied for other types of cancer. In this study, we have calculated some gamma shielding parameters such as mass attenuation coefficient (mu(rho)), effective atomic number (Z(eff)) and electron density (N-el) for Tamoxifen drug. The values of lip were calculated using WinXCom computer program and then the values of Z(eff) and N-el were derived using lip values in the wide energy range (1 keV - 100 GeV).
