dc.description.abstract | Reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS) is a clinico-radiological syndrome which includes symptoms such as headache, confusion, seizures, and visual disturbances and radiological findings of edema involving the white matter in the posterior regions of the cerebral hemispheres, and in particular bilaterally in the parietooccipital regions. RPLS was firstly described as a possible result of hypertension, eclampsia or immunsupresiye treatment. Recently reported with some other diseases that include iatrogenic and neurotoxicologycal etiologies. Usually, clinical and radiological abnormalities resolve when precipitating factors are treated with appropriate therapy. Although RPLS is reversible with early the treatment, permanent cerebral injury may occur if the treatment is delayed. In this article, we present 14 years-old-female patient who was brought with headache, fatigue, decrement at urine output complaints and at her physical examination revealed lethargy, ascite, pretibial edema and hypertension (145/ 90mmHg) and later diagnosed with chronic renal failure | en_US |
