Article 3d Location Optimization of Multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Base Stations in Next-Generation Cellular Networks and a New Meta-Heuristic Approach(Gazi Univ, Fac Engineering Architecture, 2021) Ozdag, RecepThe use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as mobile Base Stations (BSs) in wireless communication is emerging as an effective technique that should be used for the services planned in the next-generation cellular networks or in disaster situations. Currently, effective 3D placement of BS mounted on UAVs or Drones (Drone-BS), also called Low-altitude Air Platforms, in the defined area significantly increases the Quality of Service (QoS) of wireless communication. This study has been aimed to be performed dynamic deployments (location optimization) of Drone-BSs randomly distributed in the 3D plane in order to optimally cover the users in the urban environment according to the Air-to-Ground (ATG) model. Using new approaches based on the Electromagnetism-Like (EML) Algorithm and the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), which are widely used in the literature and are meta-heuristic, it was planned to be covered the maximum number of users on the ground by multiple Drone-BSs. In addition, Extensive-interval Optimal Fitness Search Algorithm (EOFSA-EML) and Discrete-interval Optimal Fitness Search Algorithm (DOFSA-EML) approaches were developed based on the EML algorithm. Based on comparison metrics for multiple Drone-BSs distributed by EOFSA-EML, DOFSA-EML, and Pure-WOA, it has been found that EML-based algorithms achieve optimal results compared to Pure-WOA.Article 8-Ohdg Levels in Patients With Allergic Rhiniti(Yerkure Tanitim & Yayincilik Hizmetleri A S, 2011) Onbasi, Kevser; Noyan, Tevfik; Cebi, Aysegl; Kiroglu, FarukObjective: Respiratory allergies like allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma are more frequently observed worldwide. Chronic inflammation in the respiratory tract is observed in these diseases. Oxidative stress contributes to this inflammation in the respiratory airways. 8-OHdG is a marker of oxidative stress. The aim of our study was to investigate the 8-OHdG levels in patients with respiratory allergy. Material and Methods: 23 patients with allergy consisting of 11 men and 12 women and 23 healthy controls were enrolled to the study. Results: 8-OHdG levels were found to be higher in allergic patients in comparison to healthy controls but it was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The reason for not significantly high levels of 8-OHdG levels as a marker of oxidative stress in respiratory allergy may attribute to the factor that the inflammation in respiratory allergy is less intensive in comparison to the inflammation in atopic dermatitis.Article Active Tectonic Setting and Paleoseismicity of the Sancak-Uzunpazar Fault Zone(Afet ve Acil Durum Yonetimi Baskanligi (AFAD), 2021) Selcuk, A.S.; Erturac, M.K.; Karabacak, V.; Sancar, T.; Kul, A.O.; Yavuz, M.A.Sancak-Uzunpazar Fault Zone is N40E-trending sinistral shear zone that has a 50 km length and 5 km width between Karakocan (Elazığ) in southwest and Kaynarpınar (Bingöl) in northeast. The fault extends parallelly to East Anatolian Fault is bounded by the North Anatolian Fault to the northeast and Karakoçan Fault to the southeast. Herein, morphological features, the tectonic setting of the Sancak-Uzunpazar Fault Zone and the first paleoseismological studies on it is represented. The Sancak-Uzunpazar Fault Zone is consist of two parallel segments (called East and West) with a 1.5 km distance. Conducted field studies and aerial photogrometry show that the segments exhibit morphological features like faceted surfaces, faulted scarps, shutter ridges, and offset streams. Especially, average offsets are about 7-12 m along the eastern segment while the cumulative maximum offset reaches 1.1 km. Moreover, revealed paleoseismological data show evidence of at least two surface ruptures during Holocene. Obtained morphological data reveal that the Sancak-Uzunpazar Fault Zone may have a relatively lower slip rate when compared to other active faults in the region and the reflection of the slip rate to the morphology is more evident in the eastern segment. © 2022 Turk Deprem Arastirma Dergisi. It is seen very rarely in adults and may present acutely as bowel obstruction. Surgical intervention is frequently delayed in these patients due to atypical symptoms. The classical surgical treatment for intestinal non-rotation is the Ladd procedure which consists of lysis of duodenal adhesions and placement of the cecum into the left upper quadrant. In this article, we present a 62 year-old man who had volvulus of the right colon caused by intestinal non-rotation. The patient underwent a right hemicolectomy and end-to-end ileotransversostomy. The postoperative period was uneventful, and the patient is asymptomatic at the 9th month of follow-up.Article Acute Cyanide Poisoning After Eating Apricot Pits: a Case Report(Galenos Yayincilik, 2012) Kaya, Avni; Okur, Mesut; Ustyol, Lokman; Temel, Hayrettin; Caksen, HuseyinThe stones and seeds of some plants such as apples, apricots, and peaches contain significant amounts of cyanide glycosides. Apricot pits are more toxic as they contain higher amounts of cyanogens and release hydrogen cyanide more easily. A previously healthy 27-month old male patient was admitted to our emergency department as intubated. His history revealed that he was intubated in the hospital where he was taken to with the complaint of fainting after having eaten numerous apricot pits with other family members. His general status was poor and he was unconscious. Both of his pupils were reactive. His deep tendon reflexes were increased and his plantar reflex was extensor bilaterally. The case was diagnosed as cyanide intoxication and the patient was admitted to the intensive care unit. Oxygen was constinuosly given under observation. After administration of hydroxocobalamine and sodium bicarbonate and correction of sodium deficit the patient regained consciousness and his general health improved. On the second day of admittance, he was discharged with a stable condition. This case was presented to emphasize that parents should not feed small children with apricot pits. Since the traditional female age-specific life tables ignore the male population and stage differentiation, their use often results in errors and inaccuracies. This article was prepared to discuss the reasons and advantages of using the age-stage, two-sex life table. © 2018, Centenary University. This study was designed to evaluate amputations performed in the province of Van and to determine specific causes of amputations associated with geographical and. cultural characteristics of the region. Methods: A total of 475 amputations were performed in 440 patients (345 males, 95 females; mean age 28.5 years; range 3 months to 85 years) in medical institutions of Van between 1995 and 2005. The patients were evaluated with respect to age and sex, etiology, side and level of amputations, and surgical interventions performed. Results: Amputations were the most common in the 21 to 30-year age group with 109 patients. Pediatric patients below the age of 10 years accounted for 13.4%. Of all the amputations, 218 (45.9%) involved the upper extremity, and 257 (54.1%) involved the lower extremity. Amputations were right-sided in 223, left-sided in 188 patients, and 29 patients underwent multiple amputations. Trauma was the most common cause of amputations (n=177, 40.2%), with leading etiologies as gunshot injuries (n=45), land mine (n=3.3) and hand grenade (n=7) blasts. Other frequent indications apart from traumatic causes were diabetes mellitus (n=86), congenital diseases (n=33), and peripheral vascular disease (n=30). Causes more specific to regional characteristics were tandoor burns (n=7), mistreatment by traditional bonesetters (n=3), and frostbites (n=3). Replantation was performed in 24 patients, of which 15 (62.5%) were successful. Conclusion: Our region features gunshot injuries and land mine blasts as the most common traumatic causes of amputations.Article Anaesthetic and Hemodynamic Effects of Continuous Spinal Anaesthesia Versus Single Dose Spinal Anaesthesia in Elderly Patients(2001) Dimirel, C.B.; Kati, I.; Cem Tuncer, Y.; Hüseyinoǧlu, Ü.A.; Silay, E.Forty patients (>70 years old) scheduled for retropubic transvesical prostatectomy were prospectively evaluated in order to compare quality of anaesthesia, complications and hemodynamic tolerance of titrated doses of plain bupivacaine using continuous spinal anaesthesia versus single dose spinal anaesthesia. Patients were randomized into two groups (Group K: continuous spinal anaesthesia, n: 20, Group S: single dose spinal anaesthesia, n: 20). The group S patients received 3 mL of 0.5% plain bupivacaine, and the group K patients received a starting dose of 1.5 mL of 0.5% plain bupivacaine, followed after 10 min by optional reinjection of 0.5 mL every 5 min until T10 level sensory block was reached. Onset of anaesthesia, hemodynamic variables, the need for ephedrine and complications were registered. Spinal anaesthesia was successful in all patients of both groups. Decreases in mean arterial pressure were significantly less pronounced in the group K than in the group S. The variations in heart rate were small and there was no significant difference between the two groups. The mean dose of ephedrine was significantly less in the group K than in the group S. No neurological complications related to the spinal anaesthesia technique were observed in either group. As a result of this study, the continuous spinal anaesthesia, using small titrated doses of 0.5% plain bupivacaine, is safe, efficient, and provides better hemodynamic stability than single dose spinal anaesthesia in elderly patients.Article Analyze of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia(derman Medical Publ, 2015) Sunnetcioglu, Aysel; Karadas, Sevdegul; Cegin, M. Bilal; Sunnetcioglu, Mahmut; Kanter, AhmetAim: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the infection that is an important cause of morbidity and mortality developed in patients whom the invasive mechanical ventilation (MV) were performed in intensive care units (ICU). In this study, the factors of VAP developing in patients whom the mechanical ventilation of ICU performed, antibiotic susceptibility to these factors and determining the risk factors were aimed. Material and Method: Between January 2009 and March 2013, 79 cases, followed with the mechanical ventilation for at least for 48 hours and developed VAP, were retrospectively reviewed at Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit of Reanimation at Faculty of Medicine at Yuzuncu Yil University, performing endotracheal intubation. The cases were evaluated in terms of microorganisms, antibiotic susceptibility and risk factors. Results: The rate of our VAP speed was calculated to be 19.68 on the day of 1000 ventilator. While a single microorganism could be isolated in 81.1% of the 74 VAP cases whose the active pathogen could be isolated, two or more than two microorganisms were isolated in 18.9% of them. While 83 of the strains (90.2%) were gram-negative bacteria, 7 of them (7.6%) were gram-positive bacteria. Acinetobacter spp. (40.2%) was most commonly isolated as a gram-negative factor, but methicillin-resistant S. aureus (4.3%) was isolated as a gram-positive factor. It was determined that the isolated factors in VAP cases were significantly resistant to the broad-spectrum antibiotics. Discussion: As a result, in patients with high-risk factors for the development of VAP, early and appropriate empirical antibiotic treatment should be started according to the results of the sensitivity of the unit and for the multi-drug-resistant microorganisms with common and high mortality.Article Analyzing Factors Affecting Household Milk Products' Expenditures in Turkey: a Multivariate Heckman Sample Selection System Approach(Ankara Univ, Fac Agr, 2015) Terin, Mustafa; Bilgic, Abdulbaki; Guler, Irfan Okan; Yavuz, FahriIn this study, we analyze the effects of socio-demographic and economic factors of households on the consumption of milk and milk products by considering the recent increased economic trend in Turkey. The multivariate Heckman sample selection system (MSS) is used to analyze the data. The likelihood of spending and levels of expenditure on each foodstuff are jointly analyzed by assuming all pairwise cross correlation. The data used in this study are obtained from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) of 2010 Household Consumption Expenditures Survey (HCES). After discarding missing observations and outliers from the sample, the data finally contain 9442 individual observations. Results indicate that households with younger household heads (20-29 years) as compared households with household heads aged 60 and over are less likely to spend and spend less on milk, yoghurt, cheese with other dairy products in both regions. Families with children 0-5 years old are more likely to spend and spend significantly more on dairy products than that of families with other kids combinations in both regions. Families with annual income 15-30 thousand, 31-45 thousand and 45 thousand and over in Turkish Liras (TL) as compared to the base group (families with annual income 15 thousand TL) spend more 4.5 TL, 9.8 TL and 16.6 TL respectively on cheese and other dairy products in urban area, while these figures are 3.6 TL, 8.0 TL and 9.3 TL for rural households, respectively.Article Anatomical and Histological Investigations on the Effects of Stratification Substrates on Final Take and Quality of Grafted Vines(TUBITAK, 2000) Cangi, R.; Balta, F.; Doǧan, A.This experiment was carried out to determine the effects of water, sawdust and pumice as stratification substrates on the success of callusing, final take and quality of grafted vines of the Hafizali and Ercis, grape cultivars grafted on Kober 5BB rootstock. The anatomical and histological development of the graft union was investigated at 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after grafting in all combinations. As for the results of the anatomical and histological investigations, it was observed that the cambial continuity between graft components in all combinations was mostly established in 21 days, and completed in 28-35 days in water and sawdust. Although water and sawdust were found to be better than pumice, water is recommended as the optimum stratification substrate.Article Ankylosis of Temporomandibular Joint, Micrognathia and Difficult Intubation (Case Report)(2004) Kati, I.; Tekin, M.; Hüseyinoǧlu, Ü.A.; Silay, E.Fiberoptic bronchoscopy is widely used for tracheal intubation in cases where direct laryngoscopy could not be achieved. In this case report we have discussed the anaesthetic management of a 17-years-old male with temporomandibular joint ankylosis and micrognathia developed following a trauma in childhood. We concluded that; although several methods can be used in cases of difficult intubation, following a careful preoperative preparation and by taking preventive measures, fiberoptic intubation can be performed providing spontaneous breathing without any problem in patients having micrognathia and restricted mouth opening.Article Annular Elastolytic Giant Cell Granuloma: Case Report(2012) Güneş Bilgili, S.; Karadaǧ, A.S.; Çalka, Ö.; Önder, S.; Bayram, I.Annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma is a rare, granulomatous skin disease. It affects mainly middle-aged women. Lesions are annular plaques with raised borders and atrophic centers on the sun exposed skin. Diagnosis is based on histopathological findings of a granulomatous reaction with elastolysis and phagocytosis of elastic fibers by multinucleated giant cells and the absence of elastic fibers in the center of the granuloma. Thirty four year- old male patient presented to our department with a three-month complaint of erythematous annular papules and plaques, with an atrophic center and elevated borders erythematous on the forehead that gradually increased in number and size without associated symptoms. A diagnosis of annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma is made based on the clinical and histopathological findings. We reported this case due to its rarity and to emphasize that the possibility of annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma should be kept in mind as an entity for differential diagnosis during the clinical evalutions granulomatous skin disease on facial located. Respectively, by applying Shewhart, CUSUM and EWMA control graphics to the coordinated data set, information about the process has been obtained, temporary control limits have been determined, deviation from general average has been identified, and prospective predictions have been made for production process. In application result, 2 points in the mean control graphic and 1 point in range and standard deviation control graphics signaled to be “out of control” exceeding designated control limits. Considering 3σ deviation, having exceeded the control limits, 11 points in the CUSUM control graphic and also 1 point in the EWMA control graphic have shown that the process was “out of control” As a result, quality control graphics are being used in many different areas such as agricultural production process, food and machine industry and as using one of the following graphics; Shewhart, CUSUM and EWMA could be misleading in terms of giving an idea about the process, it could be suggested that it will be more proper if decisions are made based on two of above mentioned graphics at least. © 2016, Centenary University. For this reason, the Deep Learning models introduced in the field of image processing meet this need in the software field In this study, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model from the Deep Learning Algorithms and the Optimization Algorithms used in Deep Learning have been applied to international image data sets. Optimization algorithms were applied to both datasets respectively, the results were analyzed and compared The success rate was approximately 96.21% in the Caltech 101 data set, while it was observed to be approximately 10% in the Cifar-100 data set.Article Approach To Scorpion Stings During Pregnancy: Two Cases(Galenos Yayincilik, 2011) Guler, Ayse; Karadas, Sevdegul; Kurdoglu, ZehraIntroduction: Although there are many studies in the literature about scorpion stings and scorpion venoms, data on maternal and fetal effects during gestation is very little. In this paper, we presented two pregnant cases who applied to our clinic because of scorpion sting and discussed the management of scorpion envenomation with literature. Cases: Two pregnant women at 32 and 24th gestational weeks admitted to the emergency department with the complaint of scorpion sting. Physical, ultrasonographic examinations and laboratory results were normal. Clinical staging of the scorpion sting was stage I in both patients. No gestational complications occured during follow of the patients who were offered hospitalisation and managed with supportive treatment. Both patients delivered healthy babies vaginally at term. Conclusion: In management of scorpion stings during pregnancy, observation and supportive treatment are sufficient when the patient is at stage I.
