Microstructural Characteristic of Nano Calcium Phosphates Doped With Fluoride and Titanium Ions

| dc.description.abstract | Calcium phosphates (CaP) are frequently used in medical applications due to their high biocompatibility in the human body. In this study, nano-sized CaPs (with Ca/P molar ratios of 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.67, and 2) doped with titanium (Ti4+) and fluoride (F-) ions were synthesized by a precipitation method and sintered at 1300°C for 1h. These bioceramics were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM and micro-hardness. It was observed that high amount of Ti4+ led to a decrease in densification when Ca/P ratio was 1.50 and 2.0 at 1300°C. Densities of the F- addition revealed considerable decreases at 1300°C. According to the SEM results, the average grain sizes of the doped and undoped samples decreased when Ca/P ratio increased. As a result of Vickers microhardness test, Ti4+ ion addition in large amounts decreased the u-hardness of the samples at 1300°C, except samples with molar ratio of 1.0 and 2.0 at 1300°C. | en_US |
