| dc.description.abstract | This case report highlights a rare variation, in which the right renal artery originates from the thoracic aorta, passing through the diaphragm to reach the renal hilum, identified through contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT). While renal artery variations are common, this particular variant, with the kidney in its normal position, is exceedingly rare. The origin of renal arteries typically occurs at the L1-L2 vertebral level, with variations often arising from the persistence of mesonephric arteries. This case adds to the literature and underscores the importance of recognizing such anomalies, particularly as these variations can impact surgical procedures, including laparoscopic nephrectomies and renal transplantation. Multidetector CT angiography is recommended as a valuable tool for accurately visualizing renal vascular anatomy, aiding in preprocedural planning, and improving clinical outcomes. | en_US |
